Happy Independence Day

USA SmileyHappy Independence Day to everyone. I hope everyone has a great day. We went to the Splash Zone yesterday and we are planning on going today. We plan on going to watch fireworks at the Base tonight. They have fireworks and stuff in Sherwood and other towns but they are so crowded. The base is crowded also but not near as bad since not everyone can get on the base so that is why we like going there. Also the place in right by a big play ground so Nathan likes playing. We did get some roof damage from the hail storm so we have to call the Insurance company tomorrow and have some one come out. I guess that is it for now I just wanted to say Happy Independence Day to everyone. I hope everyone has a great week. I also posted a picture of Nathan giving Mommy a kiss.

I just thought I would post what happened yesterday and last night. We did go to the Splash Zone yesterday and stayed for about three hours. Nathan was having so much fun playing in the water. We came home got showers and then we went over to our neighbor's house for a fish cook out. It was good fried fish and fries and good food and home made ice cream. It was good and we had a good time. Then we went to the base to watch the fireworks. When the fireworks started Nathan put his fingers in his ears. After about 5 minutes he said he was ready to go home. I just told him we had to wait until the fireworks were over. He kept his fingers in his ears the whold time. After they were over and we were walking to the car I asked him if he liked the fireworks and he told me they were loud. But we did have fun and the weather was not bad at all. I took a few pictures of Nathan last night. We set up out chairs right by the play ground. So Nathan could play before the fireworks. We also bought a new video camera and it has a fireworks setting so Donald recorded the fireworks and we watched it last night on TV and it was pretty neat. It just looked like watching one of the fireworks shows on TV.

The Wild Hailstorm

Yesterday afternoon was interesting. They were saying on the weather that we were under a severe thunderstorm watch. Around 5 or so the storm hit, it was a hail storm and the wind was blowing. The hail was hitting the windows and it was so loud. Nathan did not like the storm too much and kept asking us to turn it off. It came fast and did not last long. We took a few pictures of the hail. It was just wild and crazy. So that was our excitement for the night. Nathan is out of school on Friday and Donald is also off. So off the The Splash Zone we will go. We will probably go on Saturday also and then maybe go to the fireworks on the base.

It is HOT, HOT, HOT

SweatyOh it is so Hot and it is only June. I try to stay inside as much as I can for the AC. I do feel sorry for Donald he is flying tonight and it is soooo HOT on those planes. They just sit on the runway all day baking then when they get in them to fly at night it takes a while for them to cool off and usually they have to go so high up in order for the AC to work real well.

Nathan is still doing good at school. They were supposed to go on a field trip yesterday to the library but not enough signed the permission slips so they did not go. They are going to go see Dora Live in July so I know Nathan will probably enjoy that. He has never been to a show like that.

I did post a couple of cute pictures of Nathan and Daddy. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend. We are off to the Splash Zone on Saturday. Yeah! I know it will feel great.

Happy Father's Day

Father's Day BoyHappy Father's Day to all the wonderful Fathers that look at my blog. I hope everyone had a good day. Donald went to Texas to be with him Mother and got to see Shawn and Khristy and the kids and his aunts and uncle. He got home a little while ago. So he had a nice trip. We went to lunch at Arby's(Nathan picked, his favorites are Arby's or the Restaurant which is Dixie Cafe). Granddad and Mema and Uncle David, Aunt Michele, Daniel and Rachel all went so we had a nice lunch.

Mema had a good trip to Oklahoma. We picked her up at the airport Sat. afternoon. Nathan liked the airport and really did not want to leave. We all went to dinner at Dixie Cafe so Nathan was happy. We are happy to have her home.

I guess that is about all. I hope everyone has a great week.

Happy Anniversary to Donald and Me

Happy AnniversaryYeah! Today is our 15th Anniversary. It is hard to believe that we have been married 15 years. They have been a wonderful 15 years. Donald is flying tonight so since Mema is out of town Granddad went by and got a pizza and brought it over for dinner. So I had my Anniversary dinner with my Dad. Donald and I did go to a nice Italian restaurant for lunch the other day and we counted that as our Anniversary meal. Donald is leaving tomorrow to go to Texas for the weekend to be with his Mom and do some small projects for her around her house. He will be home Sunday afternoon.

I am a member of the Pulaski County Homemakers Extension Club. Mother told me that my Grandma Rackley was a member in Oklahoma. I am the youngest member and the oldest is 96 years old. I do enjoy it and the members are very sweet people. Well we have a meeting once a month and usually have a meeting then a potluck lunch and they usually have them at different members homes. Well today it was at my house. It went real well and there were 19 people here. So I had a nice time. One of my dear friends, she is the reason I joined, birthday was today, she turned 86 today, so I had another one of my friends who makes cakes make her a birthday cake. So that was a hit.

Well I guess that is all the news today. Other than it is VERY HOT and just the middle of June. So I think we are in for a HOT and HUMID summer. But it always seems like we survive the hot humid Arkansas summers. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Monday

Just thought I would write a little bit on the blog. Not much new since I last posted last week. I did take a cute picture of Nathan that I thought I would post. Donald left yesterday for a trip to Mississippi, he will be home Friday afternoon. I am spoiled because he is never gone and it is a little boring without him. But I am thankful that he is in a job that he is only gone a few days and not that often for that. He is going to Texas on the 19th for the weekend to be with his Mom. The weather here is starting to get HOT and HUMID so I think we are in for a HOT one. But of course we always survive the Hot Humid Arkansas summers. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

The decision has been made

On where Nathan is going to go to Kindergarten. We had the transition Kindergarten meeting today at Nathan's school and he is going to go to the transition Kindergarten class at Sylvan Hills Elementary. The Special Education coordinator, a speech therapist, occupational therapist and physical therapist that are with the district were there. Nathan's current therapists and his current teacher were also there and we all decided that the transition class will be the best place for Nathan. I have been to the school and I did see the class but I was unclear on exactly how it worked. There are fewer students in the class and there are two teachers and a speech therapist in the class. They work with the kids on the level they are at. They did mention that for some things like circle time they would probably have Nathan go the regular Kindergarten class for these things. It will be smaller and he will have more one on one than the regular class. He will also get speech, occupational and physical therapy outside of class, they will come get him out of class. I do feel good about the decision and do feel that it is going to be the best thing for Nathan. They also said that it depends on how he does but the can transition him to the regular class any time during the year if he makes great progress. And we have already registered him at Sylvan Hills because that is where we are zoned for so he is all set to go. Mema told Rachel and she was a little bit crushed and almost cried when she found out Nathan was not going to go to Sherwood. But she does know we are doing what is best for him. So I feel like a load has been lifted off my shoulders and I feel a lot better about him starting Kindergarten. I do plan on joining the PTA and I am going to try to be as active as I can at the school.

We also did go to the Splash Zone yesterday after church and lunch and had a great time. So Summer in officially here for me.
