Today was the first day that Nathan went "swimming" Donald pulled out his little pool and set it up in the backyard. Nathan had a great time playing in the water. I did take a few cute pictures. We will probably go to the big pool, the Splash Zone, in a few weeks. Not much else has been going on today. Donald went on his Saturday training ride for the Tour de Rock ride that is coming up soon. I think he only rode a little over 60 miles. He rides with a group and I think he likes that better to ride with a group. Of course Nathan and Mommy went over to Mema and Granddad's for a little bit this morning. We are going to have Nathan's transition meeting for Kindergarten on Monday. The special ed. coordinator with the schools and all of Nathan's therapists and his teacher and Donald and Me will be in the meeting. I will let everyone knows how it goes. We still have not heard if Nathan is going to go to Sherwood Elementary we should know some time this summer. I have decided that what ever school he ends up at is where he should be. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend and great week. Enjoy the pictures I posted.Saturday, May 30, 2009

Happy Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day to everyone. I just thought I would write a little bit on my blog today. Mema Hullett came for the weekend. She left this morning to go back to Texas. We had everyone over on Saturday and ate brisket(Mema Hullet always brings brisket she gets from the Masons) and it was very good. Mema and Granddad came over and also Uncle David and Aunt Michele and Daniel and Rachel. Donald's cousin, John, lives in Conway and teaches at UCA. He also came over and we had a good time I took just a few pictures. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. I think we are going to go to the Jump Zone and play for a few hours. We got back from the Jump Zone a few hours ago and I thought I would post some cute pictures. Nathan had a great time playing and after we left Jump Zone we went to McDonald's then went over to Mema and Granddad's and Mema, Mommy and Nathan went to Walmart. So we have had a good day. It has been raining off and on today. Nathan is supposed to go to the zoo with his class on Thursday so I hope it is good weather.

Nathan's Kindergarten Physical
Today I took Nathan to the Dr. for his Kindergarten Physical(which is basically his yearly check up). He is a little over 47 inches tall(or 47 1/4" to be exact) and weighs almost 45 pounds(44.6 to be exact). He is healthy and everything checked out. But Nathan would not let the Dr. look in his mouth no way that was going to happen. So the Dr. said that was okay. You can tell that Nathan does not see the Dr. often because he just kind of has a look on his face like what are you doing. He wanted to check out his private parts and undid his pants and started to pull his pants and underwear down and Nathan kept pulling them back up saying, "Pull the pants back up." But overall it went well and he is healthy. So this will count as his yearly check up and the Dr. said he would not need anymore shots until 11. The Dr. also asked if he knew if he was a boy or girl and so we asked him if he was a boy or girl and he said he was a boy. Then I asked him what Mommy was a boy or girl and he said, "Sherri." And I said that is Mommy's name is Mommy a boy or girl and he just kept saying, "Mommy is Sherri."
Last night at church they had the certificate program for Christ's Kids. I think I already told everyone that that is where they memorize things for certain age groups. Nathan's age group learned the name of the first man and woman, the name of Jesus Mommy and Daddy, the days of creation, the books of the New Testament and the acts of worship. Nathan did pretty good he went up there when they called his name and stood still for a minute then he started jumping and was clapping he was very excited. Rachel was up there and kept trying to get hold of him and make him stand still. So we are very proud of him. Well I guess that updates everyone. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Happy Saturday
Yeah it has been mostly sunny today and no rain for now. But as I type this the clouds are getting darker and it looks like it is going to rain. We have had so much rain, it said in the papers last week that we have gotten the most rain in May since the 1800's, it is crazy. Anyway I just thought I would write a little bit and say Happy Saturday to everyone and I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I have not done much today, Nathan, Mema and Mommy went to the Container Store(love this store) and Garden Ridge and then just went and hung out at Mema and Granddad's a little bit. Donald had to fly this morning but he was done by lunch time so we went to lunch at Arby's(of course). We went to eat at Dixie Cafe(another one of Nathan's favorites. He calls it the Restaurant. If you say we are going to eat at a restaurant he thinks it is Dixie Cafe). We went and visited Sherwood Elementary this past Thursday. We met the Resource Teacher(special ed) and I know about her through Daniel, he loved her so much and she is so good. She was very nice. We are zoned for Sylvan Hills Elementary, I visited the school week before last and was also impressed. We went ahead and registered him at Sylvan Hills so he is registered but we put in a change for Sherwood. We should hear if we get the change this summer some time. If we do get the change he will go to Sherwood if we don't he will go to Sylvan Hills. I feel that where ever he ends up is where he should be. We have our transition to Kindergarten meeting at his school June 1. The special ed coordinator from the schools will be there along with his current teacher and his therapist. We do feel that he can do good in a regular Kindergarten class but we really think he needs an aide with him. Sending your kids to Kindergarten is hard enough but extra hard when you have a child that is a special needs child. So everybody keep us in your prayers and I truly believe that God will take care of everything.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers that look at my blog. I hope everyone has a great Mother's Day. It is rainy here, it has rained so much the past few weeks that we are forgetting what the sun looks like. I am trying not to complain because I know we will all be complaining it is not raining around July when we need it. We have to go to Arby's at least once a week. This is one of Nathan's favorite places to go. So that is where we went for lunch. It is funny last week when we were they knew Nathan by name. I posted a couple of pictures. Our neighbors across the street have a pond in their back yard and their ducks were out last night so Nathan and Donald went over to see them and fed them some bread.
I hope everyone has a great week.
