Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas SantaI hope everyone is having a great Christmas. We have had a great one. We got up this morning and opened presents then went to Memaw and Granddad's for lunch and more presents. So we have all had a good one. I took a few pictures of our day. I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are planning on leaving for Texas on Monday and will be back Wed. late afternoon.

Christmas at the State Capital

Yesterday was Nathan's last day of school for two weeks. Last night Donald's cousin, John came over and we had dinner then went to the State Capital and then went and drove through a light display. We had a nice night. Today Memaw and one of her friends and Me are going to a little Christmas show. We are going to go to lunch then go to the one hour music show. So we should have a lot of fun. Last Saturday was our annual ornament party. There were 17 and we had a great time. We always look forward to our party and always have fun. I just thought I would post some pictures from the capital. I hope everyone has a great week before Christmas.

Festival of Trees

Christmas TreeThere was a Festival of Trees that we went to tonight. Local schools and businesses decorated trees and they were auctioning them off. Sylvan Hills Elementary had a tree and we donated an ornament for the tree. I found the ornament that we donated and I got a picture of Nathan by the tree. There were also some kids there that sang some Christmas songs. It was really nice. After we looked at the trees we went through one of the light displays in town. It is hard to believe that Christmas is three weeks away. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thankful for Family

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a really great one. My family was here of course it is easy since my whole family live in the same town. Memaw Hullett from Texas was here and Uncle Shawn, Aunt Khristy, Caitlin, J.D. and Quinn were here. We had a very nice day. The weather was not too cold so the kids went out and played and so did Daddy and Uncle Shawn. Daniel's 13th birthday was on Thanksgiving so we had a birthday cake and presents. We did not have too too many leftovers which is good because I get tired of leftovers fast. I did take a few pictures and posted them. Memaw and I went shopping the day after Thanksgiving like we do every year. We always look forward to the day after Thanksgiving shopping. We were at Walmart at 5:00 and after Walmart we hit Kohl's and we were back home by 8:00 so I think we did good. We went to the Big Dam Bridge and walked across it, the weather was gorgeous. We got our trees up yesterday(Nathan was very excited about putting the trees up)we are going to try to decorate them today. So now it will be Christmas shopping time. I hope everyone has a great week.

Nathan's first award from school

Nathan got his first award from school. It is for Citizenship so I guess he is behaving well in school. So Daddy and I are proud of him. There was a Fall Festival at his school last night and we went. It was fun, Nathan did not play any games but did like the cake walk because of the numbers but he would not walk in it. We helped with a little game that his class was doing. It was a very nice night for it. The weather has been gorgeous this past week. John(Daddy's cousin) is coming over today and we are going to go eat lunch and go to the movie. Nathan is going to spend the afternoon with Memaw and Granddad. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day Just thought I would say Happy Veterans Day to everyone. Thank you to all our Veterans. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous this week. So we have been enjoying the beautiful weather. We just went for a drive on Saturday and ended up in Conway and had lunch then made our way back home and Nathan went for a walk with Daddy. That is Nathan's time with Daddy when he goes on a walk with him. Nathan always says he wants to go for a walk with Daddy and before he leaves the house he always says, "Bye Bye Mommy." So in other words I am not usually invited, I have gone some but I think Nathan likes it better if it is just him and Daddy. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is in two weeks. Then my favorite day of the year, the day after Thanksgiving shopping. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and great weekend.

Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday Donald

Flying Witch Birthday Fireworks Happy Halloween to everyone and Happy Birthday to Donald. Today is Donald's birthday. We had a nice lunch. Donald's Aunt and Uncle and his Cousins came over for lunch and I made a birthday cake. John, Donald's cousin who teaches at UCA and lives in Conway was here. His birthday was on the 29th so the cake was for both of them.

We are planning on doing some trick or treating tonight, probably just our street and maybe go to Memaw and Granddad's house. Then we might go to one of the churches in town that are having a little festival. We did trunk or treating on Wed. night at church and Nathan did Ok. He was not too into getting the candy but he did go to a few cars and he would say trick or treat. He was Superman again for the third year in a row. He does not like to have his face painted or wear hats or masks so that limits what we can do for Halloween. So next year we will have to figure out something new for him to be. I hope everyone has a great Halloween.

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday and had a great day. The weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun. There was a corn maze that we did not go through because it was very muddy. So we went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Nathan did not want to get out of the trailer and pick a pumpkin so we stayed on the trailer and watched everyone else pick pumpkins. Nathan did like looking at the pumpkins which he kept calling jack-o-lanterns. We just had a very good day.

That night there was a small trunk or treat on the base. We went and Nathan did pretty good. They are doing trunk or treat at church on Wed. night so we will do that on Wed. night. Nathan is Superman for the third year in a row. The costume still fit and he makes such an adorable Superman so we decided to do it again. It is hard finding a costume for Nathan because he does not want to wear hats or does not like face painting or wearing masks so our options are limited.

I hope everyone has a great week.

The First Parent Teacher Conference

went very well. We had Nathan's first parent teacher conference on Tuesday. His teacher said he has made progress since he started school. She said he loves to go to the reading table. She said that he is doing good and making improvements. I was so glad and told her we were very very pleased with the class. He really likes his teacher and is always ready to go see Mrs. Ross.

For those of you that know what Guitar Hero is we have become addicted to it. We bought a Play Station 3 and went ahead and got Guitar Hero and it is a lot of fun. I took a few pictures of Donald playing Guitar Hero and Nathan watching. Nathan really likes to watch, so I guess he will be a future Guitar Hero.
Firehead

Rachel is in Alpha at Sherwood Elementary. Alpha is a class for the smart kids. They had an astronaut come from NASA and spoke to them and helped them make rockets. Yesterday they shot off their rockets. I took a few pictures of Rachel and her Rocket.

Hopefully we will be able to go to the pumpkin patch Saturday. If we go I will post some pictures. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Another Fun Day

Saturday was a beautiful day so we went driving in Daddy's car(Nathan loves riding in Daddy's car, which is our Volvo). We went to Walmart to get a few things then we had lunch at Arby's(we eat at Arby's at least once a week, Nathan loves going to the Arby's here in Sherwood and they even know his name). Then we went out to the base and played at a little play ground and walked by one of the small lakes on base. So we had a fun filled day. Donald went to the UCA football game so I gave Nathan a bath and took some pictures of his hair doo when I was washing it.

Today is Rachel's 9th birthday. We are planning on having Ice Cream Cake at Mema's house tonight and let her open presents from family. She is having a skating party on Saturday. Donald and I moved into this house 9 years ago today. We moved in the day Rachel was born. It is hard to believe that we have lived in one house for that long. We are planning on living here for many many more years to come. It is also hard to believe that Nathan has been in school for 6 weeks. It has gone by fast. He is still doing good and really likes his teacher. Every morning he says he is ready to go see Mrs. Ross. I guess that updates everyone, I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend.

Donald finished another 100 mile bike ride

Bike Riding Yeah! Donald finished the Big Dam Bridge 100 mile bike ride. He finished in a little over 6 hours. He said it was tough, there were a lot of hills. He also got leg cramps that delayed him some. He said he just ate a bunch of pickles and finished the 100 miles. This makes the third 100 mile bike ride he has done this year. He is planning on going to the UCA(University of Central Arkansas) football game with his cousin John, who is a teacher at the University and lives in Conway). He is taking a short nap before he goes.

Mema is back from her trip and we are all happy here. She was gone to Colorado with the church group for 11 days. She said she really had a good time. We all missed her very much. We went to the commissary this morning and Nathan could not have been any better. Nathan brought home a progress report from his teacher and she said that it has been a joy getting to know Nathan and he is a delightful boy. She said he comes to her reading table and works well there. The only thing that needs improvement is practicing self control. He also ate pretty well at lunch this week. They had chili mac one day and they said Nathan wanted two helpings and on pizza day he ate a bunch and yesterday was spaghetti that they said he chowed down on. I was not really surprised by the pizza and spaghetti but I was about the chili mac. Donald and I are buying his lunch every day at school because we know he will end up eating more and different things. So school is going good for him. He really likes his teacher and every morning says we are going to see Mrs. Ross. I guess that is about all the news, I did post a few pictures. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend and great week.

Happy Birthday Nathan

Birthday Party BlowerToday is Nathan's 6th birthday. It is hard to believe that he is already 6. We had his birthday party yesterday at the Jump Zone again and it was a lot of fun. There were 14 kids and they all had a good time. Mema Hullett came for the party and she is going back to Texas today. I hope everyone has a great week.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day BBQI hope everyone has a great Labor Day. Just thought I would write a little bit. Nathan has been doing very well in school. There are just a few things that the teacher said he needed to work on. He does not really like to color and when the teacher has told him to color sometimes he does not. She also said that he told her no when she told him to stay on his mat at nap time(I think Nathan is the only child that does not take a nap). Also one day he was doing lines and the teacher said he did real well then he scribbled on the page and she wrote a little note on the page. She did send home a little note that said Nathan was participating in the pre-reading group and was doing well. So far each week he brings home papers on Friday and they are learning a color and how to spell it and what things are that color. Last week it was red and they learn a song, this week it was blue. I sang the blue song and then I asked Nathan if he could spell blue and he sang the song and spelled blue then I asked him if he could spell red and he sang the song and spelled red. So I guess some things are sinking in. Next Friday they are having lunch and have invited Grandparents for Grandparents day. So Mema and Granddad and I will be going for lunch. Then next Saturday is the big birthday party for Nathan. He is having a Wolverine birthday. It will be at the Jump Zone again this year so I know we will have fun. I will post pictures of his party.

One more thing I forgot to post that Donald rode in the Hotter N Hell 100 mile bike ride in Wichita Falls last Saturday. He rode it in a little less than 6 hours. He got home Sat. night around 10:45. The next big ride for him is pm Sept. 26 it is the Big Dam Bridge 100 mile bike ride. I guess that is it, I think I have updated everyone.

Fun Day and Burns Park and Funland

The weekend weather has been gorgeous. We went to Burns Park and Funland today and Nathan had fun riding some of the rides.

Nathan had a good first few days of school. When we had the open house I told his teacher that he probably would not tell them when he needed to use the bathroom so I was sure there would be some accidents. Well the first day we picked him up the teacher said he would not go to the bathroom for her and kept saying he would go for Mommy when Mommy came, so he held it all day long which really surprised me. The next day was the same held it all day. The teacher suggested that maybe I could buy something as a reward for going for her. So we went to Walmart and we found some number stickers(actually they were poster board stickers)and he really wanted them so I told him that Mrs. Ross would give him one if he would go to the bathroom for her. When I picked him up on Friday Mrs. Ross said the numbers worked. So I was relieved that he did go for her so now I know he will be okay about the bathroom situation. He also brought home a little slip that said he got caught paying attention. I really like the class and feel really good about it. There is the teacher, speech therapist, and three para professionals in the room all the time. There are only 15 kids in the class. So he is getting close to one on one help. I hope everyone has a good week. Donald is leaving Friday to go to Wichita Falls to ride in the Hotter Than Hell 100 mile bike ride on Saturday.

First Day of School

Well today is Nathan's first day of Kindergarten. It was a smooth drop off. We got there and dropped him off at his class and Mrs. Ross(his teacher) had him hang up his backpack and then I told him to go sit at his seat(she had put there names on the table). The only problem was the other night when we were there for open house there was a number chart out well this morning it was gone and of course Nathan noticed that first thing. He kept saying, "Where are the numbers?" and was looking for them. He sat down and we said bye and when we were leaving I heard him saying, "Mommy and Daddy will be back later." So there were no tears. He did not cry and I know everyone will be shocked but I did not cry. But if he would have cried I know I would have. But he is going to be on my mind all day. But after meeting the teacher and seeing the class I feel really good about it and know this is where Nathan needs to be. I know he will do fine. Of course I had to take a few pictures.

Graduation Day

Teddy Grad '09 Today Nathan Graduated from North Hills Child Development Center. He did very good. He even wore his cap. He did not sing any of the songs, even though he has been singing them at home. All the kids did good. It was sad and tearful for me. I am going to miss the comfort of his special needs school and I am going to miss a lot of the people. Nathan has gone there almost 2 years and I have become attached to some of the people. It is a great school. But I know he has to grow up and I do feel real good about the class he is going to. We are going to go to the school next week some time so Nathan can see the school and I think they are having an open house the Monday before school starts. He starts on August 19. I did take a few pictures today. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

It is already August

It is hard to believe that it is already August and Nathan graduates from North Hills Friday and he starts Kindergarten on August 19. Time is just flying by. Nathan has gone for a walk with Daddy. He loves to go for walks with Daddy, so I decided to get on and blog a little bit. I hope everyone is doing good. It has been a rainy day. I think we set records for rain fall in July and it is the first day of August and was raining. We have our shingles sitting by the side of the house just waiting on the roofing company to get to us and put on our new roof. There are a lot of people in Sherwood getting new roofs, that hail storm was bad.

Mema Hullett is coming Thursday for Nathan's graduation on Friday. I still can't believe that he is about to leave North Hills. It is such a great school. But I do feel good about the class he is going to and I am a little excited too because he is growing up.

He was playing with his baby the other night and I thought he looked so cute so I took a few pictures. I hope everyone has a great week. I will probably post some graduation pictures and blog a little on Friday.

Trip to the Zoo

Today we went to the zoo. Daddy and Mommy learned a few things today. First we should not go to the zoo in the afternoon because a lot of the animals are not out. Second we should not let Nathan ride the carousal first because he does not want to get off then when he does he is ready to go home. Donald rode 68 miles today with a group he has been riding with on Saturdays and they rode to Conway and back and then we went to the zoo. When we got there Nathan said he wanted to ride the horse so of course we said yes. He rode it had a good time but did not want to stop riding it and get off. So Donald had to drag him off with him crying. Then Nathan was not happy and said he was ready to go home. So I told him no we were going to go see some animals. He whined a little bit but did get better. He loves to see the fish and feed them, so he got to do that. I do think it was a little hotter than they said it was going to be. But over all we had a good time but like I said before we did learn some things from this visit. I did take a few pictures of course. Then tonight Daddy's cousin, John, came over and Daddy grilled out some burgers and we all had a nice visit. So we have had a very nice day. I hope everyone has a great week.

Nathan's new bed

Nathan got a new bed. Yes, he did just get out of his toddler bed. The mattress was 52 inches long and he is just 48 so he had a few to go. We went ahead and bought a twin bed with two drawers under the bed. We also bought a 5 drawer chest to match. He really seems to like it and now we don't have to buy him another bed. I told Donald he can sleep in this bed until he moves out of the house. I did take a few pictures of him on his new bed.

He went to see Dora live and his teachers said everyone had a great time. I told him Dora was going to be on the stage and he kept saying he wanted to go on the stage. They did get to ride the little bus to the show. I think that is what Nathan liked the best, he likes to ride on the bus. Of course he likes to just ride he has always like riding in the car. One of his teachers said they did a song about numbers and she watched Nathan and he stood up and got real excited, because we all know he loves numbers. I guess that is it for now I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Independence Day

USA SmileyHappy Independence Day to everyone. I hope everyone has a great day. We went to the Splash Zone yesterday and we are planning on going today. We plan on going to watch fireworks at the Base tonight. They have fireworks and stuff in Sherwood and other towns but they are so crowded. The base is crowded also but not near as bad since not everyone can get on the base so that is why we like going there. Also the place in right by a big play ground so Nathan likes playing. We did get some roof damage from the hail storm so we have to call the Insurance company tomorrow and have some one come out. I guess that is it for now I just wanted to say Happy Independence Day to everyone. I hope everyone has a great week. I also posted a picture of Nathan giving Mommy a kiss.

I just thought I would post what happened yesterday and last night. We did go to the Splash Zone yesterday and stayed for about three hours. Nathan was having so much fun playing in the water. We came home got showers and then we went over to our neighbor's house for a fish cook out. It was good fried fish and fries and good food and home made ice cream. It was good and we had a good time. Then we went to the base to watch the fireworks. When the fireworks started Nathan put his fingers in his ears. After about 5 minutes he said he was ready to go home. I just told him we had to wait until the fireworks were over. He kept his fingers in his ears the whold time. After they were over and we were walking to the car I asked him if he liked the fireworks and he told me they were loud. But we did have fun and the weather was not bad at all. I took a few pictures of Nathan last night. We set up out chairs right by the play ground. So Nathan could play before the fireworks. We also bought a new video camera and it has a fireworks setting so Donald recorded the fireworks and we watched it last night on TV and it was pretty neat. It just looked like watching one of the fireworks shows on TV.

The Wild Hailstorm

Yesterday afternoon was interesting. They were saying on the weather that we were under a severe thunderstorm watch. Around 5 or so the storm hit, it was a hail storm and the wind was blowing. The hail was hitting the windows and it was so loud. Nathan did not like the storm too much and kept asking us to turn it off. It came fast and did not last long. We took a few pictures of the hail. It was just wild and crazy. So that was our excitement for the night. Nathan is out of school on Friday and Donald is also off. So off the The Splash Zone we will go. We will probably go on Saturday also and then maybe go to the fireworks on the base.

It is HOT, HOT, HOT

SweatyOh it is so Hot and it is only June. I try to stay inside as much as I can for the AC. I do feel sorry for Donald he is flying tonight and it is soooo HOT on those planes. They just sit on the runway all day baking then when they get in them to fly at night it takes a while for them to cool off and usually they have to go so high up in order for the AC to work real well.

Nathan is still doing good at school. They were supposed to go on a field trip yesterday to the library but not enough signed the permission slips so they did not go. They are going to go see Dora Live in July so I know Nathan will probably enjoy that. He has never been to a show like that.

I did post a couple of cute pictures of Nathan and Daddy. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and weekend. We are off to the Splash Zone on Saturday. Yeah! I know it will feel great.

Happy Father's Day

Father's Day BoyHappy Father's Day to all the wonderful Fathers that look at my blog. I hope everyone had a good day. Donald went to Texas to be with him Mother and got to see Shawn and Khristy and the kids and his aunts and uncle. He got home a little while ago. So he had a nice trip. We went to lunch at Arby's(Nathan picked, his favorites are Arby's or the Restaurant which is Dixie Cafe). Granddad and Mema and Uncle David, Aunt Michele, Daniel and Rachel all went so we had a nice lunch.

Mema had a good trip to Oklahoma. We picked her up at the airport Sat. afternoon. Nathan liked the airport and really did not want to leave. We all went to dinner at Dixie Cafe so Nathan was happy. We are happy to have her home.

I guess that is about all. I hope everyone has a great week.

Happy Anniversary to Donald and Me

Happy AnniversaryYeah! Today is our 15th Anniversary. It is hard to believe that we have been married 15 years. They have been a wonderful 15 years. Donald is flying tonight so since Mema is out of town Granddad went by and got a pizza and brought it over for dinner. So I had my Anniversary dinner with my Dad. Donald and I did go to a nice Italian restaurant for lunch the other day and we counted that as our Anniversary meal. Donald is leaving tomorrow to go to Texas for the weekend to be with his Mom and do some small projects for her around her house. He will be home Sunday afternoon.

I am a member of the Pulaski County Homemakers Extension Club. Mother told me that my Grandma Rackley was a member in Oklahoma. I am the youngest member and the oldest is 96 years old. I do enjoy it and the members are very sweet people. Well we have a meeting once a month and usually have a meeting then a potluck lunch and they usually have them at different members homes. Well today it was at my house. It went real well and there were 19 people here. So I had a nice time. One of my dear friends, she is the reason I joined, birthday was today, she turned 86 today, so I had another one of my friends who makes cakes make her a birthday cake. So that was a hit.

Well I guess that is all the news today. Other than it is VERY HOT and just the middle of June. So I think we are in for a HOT and HUMID summer. But it always seems like we survive the hot humid Arkansas summers. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Monday

Just thought I would write a little bit on the blog. Not much new since I last posted last week. I did take a cute picture of Nathan that I thought I would post. Donald left yesterday for a trip to Mississippi, he will be home Friday afternoon. I am spoiled because he is never gone and it is a little boring without him. But I am thankful that he is in a job that he is only gone a few days and not that often for that. He is going to Texas on the 19th for the weekend to be with his Mom. The weather here is starting to get HOT and HUMID so I think we are in for a HOT one. But of course we always survive the Hot Humid Arkansas summers. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

The decision has been made

On where Nathan is going to go to Kindergarten. We had the transition Kindergarten meeting today at Nathan's school and he is going to go to the transition Kindergarten class at Sylvan Hills Elementary. The Special Education coordinator, a speech therapist, occupational therapist and physical therapist that are with the district were there. Nathan's current therapists and his current teacher were also there and we all decided that the transition class will be the best place for Nathan. I have been to the school and I did see the class but I was unclear on exactly how it worked. There are fewer students in the class and there are two teachers and a speech therapist in the class. They work with the kids on the level they are at. They did mention that for some things like circle time they would probably have Nathan go the regular Kindergarten class for these things. It will be smaller and he will have more one on one than the regular class. He will also get speech, occupational and physical therapy outside of class, they will come get him out of class. I do feel good about the decision and do feel that it is going to be the best thing for Nathan. They also said that it depends on how he does but the can transition him to the regular class any time during the year if he makes great progress. And we have already registered him at Sylvan Hills because that is where we are zoned for so he is all set to go. Mema told Rachel and she was a little bit crushed and almost cried when she found out Nathan was not going to go to Sherwood. But she does know we are doing what is best for him. So I feel like a load has been lifted off my shoulders and I feel a lot better about him starting Kindergarten. I do plan on joining the PTA and I am going to try to be as active as I can at the school.

We also did go to the Splash Zone yesterday after church and lunch and had a great time. So Summer in officially here for me.

First day playing in the little pool

In The PoolToday was the first day that Nathan went "swimming" Donald pulled out his little pool and set it up in the backyard. Nathan had a great time playing in the water. I did take a few cute pictures. We will probably go to the big pool, the Splash Zone, in a few weeks. Not much else has been going on today. Donald went on his Saturday training ride for the Tour de Rock ride that is coming up soon. I think he only rode a little over 60 miles. He rides with a group and I think he likes that better to ride with a group. Of course Nathan and Mommy went over to Mema and Granddad's for a little bit this morning. We are going to have Nathan's transition meeting for Kindergarten on Monday. The special ed. coordinator with the schools and all of Nathan's therapists and his teacher and Donald and Me will be in the meeting. I will let everyone knows how it goes. We still have not heard if Nathan is going to go to Sherwood Elementary we should know some time this summer. I have decided that what ever school he ends up at is where he should be. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend and great week. Enjoy the pictures I posted.

Happy Memorial Day

Smiley FlagHappy Memorial Day to everyone. I just thought I would write a little bit on my blog today. Mema Hullett came for the weekend. She left this morning to go back to Texas. We had everyone over on Saturday and ate brisket(Mema Hullet always brings brisket she gets from the Masons) and it was very good. Mema and Granddad came over and also Uncle David and Aunt Michele and Daniel and Rachel. Donald's cousin, John, lives in Conway and teaches at UCA. He also came over and we had a good time I took just a few pictures. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. I think we are going to go to the Jump Zone and play for a few hours.

We got back from the Jump Zone a few hours ago and I thought I would post some cute pictures. Nathan had a great time playing and after we left Jump Zone we went to McDonald's then went over to Mema and Granddad's and Mema, Mommy and Nathan went to Walmart. So we have had a good day. It has been raining off and on today. Nathan is supposed to go to the zoo with his class on Thursday so I hope it is good weather.

Nathan's Kindergarten Physical

Today I took Nathan to the Dr. for his Kindergarten Physical(which is basically his yearly check up). He is a little over 47 inches tall(or 47 1/4" to be exact) and weighs almost 45 pounds(44.6 to be exact). He is healthy and everything checked out. But Nathan would not let the Dr. look in his mouth no way that was going to happen. So the Dr. said that was okay. You can tell that Nathan does not see the Dr. often because he just kind of has a look on his face like what are you doing. He wanted to check out his private parts and undid his pants and started to pull his pants and underwear down and Nathan kept pulling them back up saying, "Pull the pants back up." But overall it went well and he is healthy. So this will count as his yearly check up and the Dr. said he would not need anymore shots until 11. The Dr. also asked if he knew if he was a boy or girl and so we asked him if he was a boy or girl and he said he was a boy. Then I asked him what Mommy was a boy or girl and he said, "Sherri." And I said that is Mommy's name is Mommy a boy or girl and he just kept saying, "Mommy is Sherri."

Last night at church they had the certificate program for Christ's Kids. I think I already told everyone that that is where they memorize things for certain age groups. Nathan's age group learned the name of the first man and woman, the name of Jesus Mommy and Daddy, the days of creation, the books of the New Testament and the acts of worship. Nathan did pretty good he went up there when they called his name and stood still for a minute then he started jumping and was clapping he was very excited. Rachel was up there and kept trying to get hold of him and make him stand still. So we are very proud of him. Well I guess that updates everyone. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Happy Saturday

Mostly SunnyYeah it has been mostly sunny today and no rain for now. But as I type this the clouds are getting darker and it looks like it is going to rain. We have had so much rain, it said in the papers last week that we have gotten the most rain in May since the 1800's, it is crazy. Anyway I just thought I would write a little bit and say Happy Saturday to everyone and I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I have not done much today, Nathan, Mema and Mommy went to the Container Store(love this store) and Garden Ridge and then just went and hung out at Mema and Granddad's a little bit. Donald had to fly this morning but he was done by lunch time so we went to lunch at Arby's(of course). We went to eat at Dixie Cafe(another one of Nathan's favorites. He calls it the Restaurant. If you say we are going to eat at a restaurant he thinks it is Dixie Cafe).
We went and visited Sherwood Elementary this past Thursday. We met the Resource Teacher(special ed) and I know about her through Daniel, he loved her so much and she is so good. She was very nice. We are zoned for Sylvan Hills Elementary, I visited the school week before last and was also impressed. We went ahead and registered him at Sylvan Hills so he is registered but we put in a change for Sherwood. We should hear if we get the change this summer some time. If we do get the change he will go to Sherwood if we don't he will go to Sylvan Hills. I feel that where ever he ends up is where he should be. We have our transition to Kindergarten meeting at his school June 1. The special ed coordinator from the schools will be there along with his current teacher and his therapist. We do feel that he can do good in a regular Kindergarten class but we really think he needs an aide with him. Sending your kids to Kindergarten is hard enough but extra hard when you have a child that is a special needs child. So everybody keep us in your prayers and I truly believe that God will take care of everything.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day BasketHappy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers that look at my blog. I hope everyone has a great Mother's Day. It is rainy here, it has rained so much the past few weeks that we are forgetting what the sun looks like. I am trying not to complain because I know we will all be complaining it is not raining around July when we need it. We have to go to Arby's at least once a week. This is one of Nathan's favorite places to go. So that is where we went for lunch. It is funny last week when we were they knew Nathan by name. I posted a couple of pictures.
Our neighbors across the street have a pond in their back yard and their ducks were out last night so Nathan and Donald went over to see them and fed them some bread.
I hope everyone has a great week.

Happy and Sad

No I am not confused on how I am feeling. I just had to write a little bit on Nathan doing his emotions. Amber has been working with him at school on his emotions. He will say Nathan is sad in a real deep voice. Then he will say Nathan is happy and smile. And of course he will also say Daddy, Mema, Granddad, Mommy whoever he is talking to he will say who it is and say that they are sad and then happy. I took a few pictures of his sad and happy face. I think his sad face is funny. It has been looking like rain all day and sprinkled a little bit but I think it is supposed to rain tonight and be rainy all week. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

It is Spring but feels more like Summer

SunnyToday the high was 90 so it feels more like summer than spring. And it is just April. I guess I will get ready for a HOT summer. Although I am happy that it is finally short wearing weather. I don't know what Nathan has been doing at school but he has torn out the knee of at least five pair of jeans this year. He has never done that before. The last day he wore jeans was Friday and he came home with a hole in the knee, so I put shorts on him and he has been wearing shorts since then. Not much else has been going on. We are all doing good. Nathan spent the day at Mema and Granddad's on Saturday, Donald and I went to the movie. And of course he had a great time. They have this program at church called Christ Kids. They have to memorize First Man and Woman, Jesus Mom and Dad, Days of Creation, Books of the New Testament, Acts of Worship and Nathan finished his on Sunday we are so proud of him. They have a little program on a Sunday night and they get a little certificate so he will get his. Well I guess that is all the news so I guess I will close for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Of course I had to post some cute pictures of Nathan.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter BunnyI hope everyone has had a good Easter so far. It is rainy and cool here but we have still had a nice day so far. Of course we went to church this morning and I have to brag on my sweet boy, he said all the books of the New Testament to his teacher, well I guess he sang them to her because he sang the New Testament song. After church we went to Mema's for lunch, and for those of you that don't know my Mom which I think everyone knows my Mom, she is the best. Rachel and Nathan had a small egg hunt in the house and Rachel is such a sweet girl that she divided the eggs evenly between her and Nathan and gave him some of hers. She is so sweet, of course I gave her the candy out of the eggs because Nathan does not like it. Nathan looked so cute this morning he wore a tie for the first time. He did not really like it at first but he kept it on all during church. I posted a few pictures. I hope everyone has a good rest of the day and great week.

Spring Break is over

Well Spring Break is over and it was back to school for Nathan today. He was fine about going back and did not make a fuss about it. I did enjoy having him home and we had fun. We did not do much the weather did not cooperate much. I think there were only about two nice sunny warm days. The other days were cool and rainy. Oh well we had fun anyway. I did add a few pictures. One day Nathan went upstairs and got some of his stuffed animals and all the animals that he sleeps with and laid them of the floor and watched TV. The next day he got those same animals and added some more. He did a lot of lining up stuff during the week. So we had a good time even if we stayed inside a lot. I hope everyone has a great week.

Trip to Hot Springs

Today Mema, Mommy and Nathan took a short road trip to Hot Springs. We went shopping and ate lunch at McDonald's. We drove by the race track but we did not see any horses. Nathan said, "No horses today, the horses are taking a nap." The weather was real windy and is supposed to be stormy tonight. We had a lot of fun. I took a picture of Nathan and Mema in front of the fountain at the Outlet Mall. Watching the fountain was the highlight of the trip for Nathan he just loved to look at the water and the fountain. We were in the store while Mema shopped and we were walking around then Nathan walked to the front of the store and proceeded to walk behind the lady working at the check out desk and turned off her computer. I could not believe he did it and she turned it back on and I apologized she said that was OK. But after that I decided that maybe we should go hang out by the fountain and wait on Mema so we did.

Happy Spring Break

Happy Spring Break to everyone that is on Spring Break this week. We do not have any big plans just going places during the day. Mema, Mommy and Nathan are going to go to Hot Springs for the day on Tuesday. One day this week we hope that Nathan's friends Gavin and Braydon can come over and play. One day we are going to try to go to the zoo. So hopefully we will have a fun week and the weather will cooperate. No, a tornado did not hit my living room it was Nathan. I just thought I would take a few pictures of all the lining up and stuff he did in the living room. He was busy. I hope everyone has a great week. I will try to post pictures and information about what we do this week.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

St. Patty's Clover PinwheelI hope everyone is wearing their green so they don't get pinched. It is foggy here this morning but supposed to turn into a beautiful day. Yesterday was very nice. Mema Hullett came on Saturday to spend a few days she is going home today. We had a nice visit. Nathan's spring break in next week. Mema and Nathan and Me are planning a day trip to Hot Springs. Nathan loves to ride in the car so he is always ready for a short or long road trip. We don't have much more planned but I am sure we will think of a few fun things to do. Nathan has now started playing with his big red top. He always brings it into the living room and says, "Daddy spin the big red top." I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Happy Friday the 13th

Friday The 13th I know a lot of people say the number 13 is unlucky but I think it is a lucky number because Nathan was born on the 13th of September. So I call it a lucky number so Happy Friday the 13th to everyone. I just thought I would tell everybody about some cute things they told me that Nathan did at school yesterday. His speech therapist name is Amber so he calls her Miss Amber. Well yesterday she was doing some expressions with him and showed him happy and smiled real big then showed him sad and looked like she was going to cry and was real sad, she said Nathan looked at her and said, "Miss Amber be sad later." Then when Miss Patty, she is his occupational therapist, said she had him and he could still see Amber and he looked at her and said, "Miss Amber is OK now." He did not like Miss Amber being sad. Now Nathan just loves all his therapist but I think him favorite is Miss Patty. He thanks God for her every night. His physical therapist, Miss Linzi(or Miss Winzi is what Nathan calls her he says W for L) she said he was doing bridges, and for those of you that don't know what bridges are he lays down on his back and raises his bottom off the floor. She said he did 100 bridges the other day and he counts while he does them, she said he got to 60 on his own then needed help after that counting but counted to 100. Anyway she said yesterday he was doing bridges and could see Miss Patty and she said he was not calling her name but he kept saying her name in different tones each time he did a bridge. They all really like him in therapy I think he is so entertaining for them. I am going to miss them so much when Nathan starts Kindergarten this Fall.

Spring Forward

Daylight Savings TimeI hope everyone remembers to move their clocks ahead one hour. The past few days have been gorgeous. Yesterday it made it all the way into the 80s. I really do not want to turn the air conditioner on in March but we got close to having to do it yesterday, but we made it through without having to turn the air on. Today was not as hot but was very pleasant in the 70s and it was cloudy. Today it was free day at the zoo. We drove over there and when we saw the parking lots full and about a million people we decided not to go to the zoo. We will probably try and go during Nathan's spring break which is in a few weeks. So we went to the Junction Bridge in Little Rock and walked on it and looked at the river. Then we went to Burns Park and then came home and played in the back yard. I took a few pictures of our wonderful day. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend and a great week.

March is almost here

I can't believe that it is almost March. It seems like time is really going by fast. Of course the weather is funky once again. It did a dusting of snow earlier so now the grass has a dusting of snow on it. Luckily it was not below freezing so no frozen streets. I am not kidding when I tell you that just the other day I was wearing short sleeves and it got up in the 70s. The weather is so funky. It is supposed to be in the 70s by the end of the week. Nathan's allergies or whatever was the problem is getting better, his nose is not running near as much. We made it through the week, I was a little nervous this week because Nathan brought home a note on Monday and it said that there was the flu going around at school and one of the kids that had it was in Nathan's class. So I just kept praying that we would make it through the week without any sickness and we did so I feel much better. I hope everyone has a good week. Oh, and I did decide to post a few pictures(of course I never miss an opportunity to post a picture of my sweet boy).

Rainy Day

RainyIt is a rainy day. So I have my lounging clothes on and don't plan on getting out today. We are going to stay in today and just relax and watch it rain. Nathan was feeling a little droopy yesterday so I kept him home from school. I think it is just sinus allergy stuff because of the changing weather. It is 70 one day then 40 the next then in the 50s and 60s the next so the weather has been real funky. He has a little bit of a cough and his nose is runny a little but it is clear so that is why I don't think it is a cold. But we have been giving him Tylenol Multi-Cold and that makes him feel better. But so far this morning I have not had to give him medicine and he is watching his movies in his room and seems like he feels a lot better. I hope everyone has a great week. I did post a couple of cute pictures.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day Happy Valentines Day to everyone. Nathan had his Valentines party at school yesterday and they said it was a great party. Of course Nathan does not care about the candy or sweets but his teachers said he did eat some chips. Today is his friend, Keira's birthday so we are going to go to her party later. She is having a bowling party so that should be entertaining. I took one picture of Nathan this morning and he was blowing a kiss. I hope everyone has a great day and rest of the weekend.

Valentine Balloons

The birthday party was fun. Nathan liked bowling and watching other people bowl. I posted a few pictures. He didn't really want to leave because he wanted to play again and watch people bowl. But other than that it was a fun day.
