Back to Normal

Well we survived the holidays and the beginning of the new year and the first snow of the year and now we are back on track and back to our regular routine. We had fun playing in the snow and enjoyed the short week. Nathan is out of school on Monday and so is Donald but we don't have anything planned so not sure what we are going to do if we do anything. We might just hang out at the house for a while and then go visit Memaw and Granddad. Memaw had her foot surgery and she is doing fine but cannot drive for two weeks and should stay off of her foot as much as possible(but for those of you that know my Mom know she is not staying off her foot as much as she should, it is hard for her to be idle).

There was an awards assembly at school yesterday and Nathan got another Citizenship award. He is doing very good in school and it makes Donald and Me very happy. He has made such improvements since he is now taking a bigger dose of medicine. It is amazing what a drug can do for a child and the change it can make in them. I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Snow Day

Snow DayYeah! Today was our first snow day of the winter. We got probably over 4 inches of snow. We did go out this morning and had a fun time in the snow. It was not the best for using the saucer but was good for snowball making and it is very very COLD. Schools are closed again tomorrow because it did not really get above freezing today and the sun did not come out. So we will get a short week at school this week. Memaw was supposed to have outpatient foot surgery this morning but she postponed it. The hospital is just down the street not a far drive but she was thinking about walking in the parking lot and did not want to take a chance of her or Granddad falling so she figured it was not an emergency so she is going to reschedule it.

Nathan has been doing very well in school since he has returned from the Christmas break. We started Nathan on Focalin XR 5mg a few weeks before the break and his teachers said they could tell a difference but it wore off too soon. So we started him on 10mg during Christmas break and his teachers tell us this last week which was the first back after the break was a great week and Nathan did very well. It makes Donald and Me happy because we like this med. because it really does not change his personality or eating or sleeping. So we are really praying that this is the right med for him and he continues to do very well.

I guess that updated everyone. I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Happy New Year

January 1stHappy New Year to everyone. We survived another Christmas and another New Year's Eve. We took all the Christmas decorations and trees down and put everything away yesterday so the house looks a little bare(and it always seems like we have more room). Nathan goes back to school Monday and I guess I will start getting back in the swing of things and getting back on the regular schedule. We went to Texas the Monday after Christmas and got to see Donald's family we came home on Wed. We went over to some friends house last night for dinner and got home a little after 9:30 and put Nathan to bed and Donald and I watched the ball drop in Times Square(11:00 our time) and then went to bed. We heard some fireworks at midnight. We all slept in this morning. We are going over to Memaw and Granddad's for dinner tonight(Memaw always wants to make sure everyone eats some black eyed peas so she always has us over on New Years Day). I hope everyone has a good week.

Merry Christmas

Christmas CardI hope everyone has had a great Christmas. We have had a wonderful day. It started out this morning with Donald, Nathan and Me opening our presents and seeing what Santa brought this morning and we cooked a few things. Then we went over to Memaw and Granddad's for lunch and more opening presents. David and his family were also there. We had a great time opening presents. Our plan is to go to Texas on Monday and come back Wednesday. It will be a fast short trip but I know it will be a good one. Robert and Becca and their kids are planning on going to Texas tomorrow. And Shawn and his family will come down Tuesday for a visit. Nathan goes back to school on the 3rd and I guess things will start to get back to normal. I plan to start putting some of the Christmas stuff back tomorrow. It is fun to get it all out and decorate but I am usually ready to get it put back up and everything back in place very shortly after Christmas. I guess that is all for now I will try to get back on after our trip and let everyone know how it was and post pictures if I take any(which of course you know I will).

Christmas Break

Well we are officially on Christmas break. Nathan is out of school this week and next week. We have been running errands and just hanging out at the house and of course going to see Granddad and Memaw. We are planning on spending Christmas day at Memaw and Granddad's house. Poor Uncle David had surgery(hiatal hernia removed and then repair work done from that)and he can't eat solid food for a while so Memaw is going to make sure there is enough mashed potatoes and banana pudding for him. He is doing good recovering and said it is strange that he does not have constant heart burn or have to take Prilosec every day. We went to the state capitol a week ago and had a fun time then we went and drove through one of the big light displays. We are planning on going to Texas the Monday after Christmas for a few days. Donald's older brother, Robert and his family are going to be there, they live in New Mexico and his younger brother, Shawn live outside Dallas so we will see them also. So we are hoping for a nice trip. I guess that updates everyone for now. I hope everyone has a very wonderful Christmas.

Wonderful Thanksgiving

Hello to everyone I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did at the Hullett house. We had my family here and Donald's mom and Shawn and his family. We did have a nice Thanksgiving. I was a little disappointed in the Black Friday shopping. I think the stores ruined it when they opened early like at midnight because a lot of those people that were there at midnight stayed until 5:00 and got in line for stuff. So next year it might be different and we might not venture out until around 7:30 or 8:00. Rachel went with us this year and I was surprised to see her in the car at 4:30 when Mother came and got me. She was a trooper but I don't think it was as fun as she thought it would be so we will see if she goes with us next year. We did have a lot of fun though. Our ornament party is getting closer and closer it is going to be on the 11th and it will be our 8th year to have the party. We always have such a good time. Nathan is having a Christmas store at his school and I have volunteered to help at it. I am going to help tomorrow and Thurs. and maybe some next week. Well I guess that pretty much updates everyone on what is going on here.

Almost Thanksgiving

It is so hard to believe that it is almost Thanksgiving. We will have Thanksgiving here at our house like we do every year. My family will be here and Irene and Shawn and his family so we are expecting 15 people. Then of course Black Friday is my favorite day and Mother and I will be out early getting in the middle of the crowds and finding bargains(we will miss you Aunt Trish). Not much has been going on. Nathan is still doing alright in school he has had a few not so good days on being good but his teacher is so sweet and says everyone has some bad days. But overall he is doing good. We did buy an iPad because they use one in Nathan's class and we knew he would be able to use it and he really likes to get on it and do the stuff that is on there for him. Of course I am really enjoying it also it is really nice. Nathan just has to go to school two days next week he is out on Wed., Thurs., and Friday so we are going to have fun. The weather has started really cooling off and we have had some real cool days. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
