The Big Dam Bridge
Donald was off today so we went to the Big Dam Bridge. It has been completed for over a year and this was my first time to go on the bridge. Last September they had a Big Dam Bridge 100 mile bike ride. Donald rode in that and is planning on riding again this year. So Donald has been to the bridge a few times to ride his bike. I took a few pictures. The houses on the hillside are where some of the super rich people in Little Rock live.
Happy Pajama Day
At least for Nathan it is and I guess for anyone else that wants to wear their pajamas today. Today is pajama day at school. So of course I had to take a few pictures of Nathan in his pj's. Everyone at school had their pajamas on so I know he will have fun. The paper he brought home said that they are going to camp out and have a campfire and make smores. There were a few tents in his classroom when I dropped him off this morning. Last Friday was circus day and they had snow cones. Nathan loves to eat ice so I figured he would like them. Ms. Faye said that he picked all the ice that was not a color and ate it. On Tuesday they had a field trip to Pizza Hut that has a big play area. Ms. Harris said he ate a piece of sausage pizza. I was surprised because he is very picky about his pizza. He also had fun playing on all the equipment. Next week Nathan will be out of school on Thurs. and Fri. so Donald is planning on taking leave and we are going to go to the splash zone which should be fun. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

VBS
First off let me say that I have a lot more respect and admire teachers more. We just had VBS Sunday night and Monday through Wednesday from 9-12 and then it ended last night. I volunteered to help and they put me as a helper with the 3 year olds. We had 21 3 year olds on Monday. There were a few who cried when their moms dropped them off and there were a few that cried every day for a while. I was so tired when I got home. After Monday with 21 3 year olds they split the 3s up into two groups so it was a lot easier. But it worked out good having it during the day instead of night. We had a good crowd. Sylvan Hills combines VBS with two other local congregations so they will do it the next two years. So I am off the hook for at least two years. No it really wasn't that bad I did have fun doing it.
Another thing yesterday was Donald and My
anniversary.
Also Donald was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. The promotion list came out the other day. He will pin on on Oct. 1. So we are all very proud of him.

Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful Dads out there that read my blog. If it wasn't for you wonderful Dads we would not have our wonderful sweet babies. I hope everyone has a nice Father's Day. The first picture is a picture of my two favorite guys. We went over to Mema and Granddad's for lunch. Which was wonderful because it was Mommy's favorite meal, roast beef and mashed potatoes and gravy.
We had a very busy day yesterday. Mema, Mommy and Nathan went to the farmer's market at the Rivermarket in Little Rock yesterday morning. Then later in the afternoon we went to Gavin and Braydon's birthday party. It was playing in the water and Nathan did not want to leave. There are a couple of pictures from the party. The two boys at the top of the water slide watching Nathan go down are Gavin and Braydon.
Then after the party we went to the church parking lot because they were doing Summer Celebration. There were inflatables, food, face painting, balloons. The only picture I got is of Nathan and Rachel going down the inflatable slide. The other pictures I took I had to take with my throw away camera because the batteries died in the digital camera after taking the one picture.
Hope everyone has a great week.

Happy Friday
Well it is a little late to say this since it is Friday night. Well anyway I hope everyone had a good Friday and good week. Today was sprinkler day at Nathan's school. Ms. Faye said he had a great time and loved it and got wet from head to toe. I told her that he loves the water. Donald and I would like to try to get him swimming lessons but it will probably have to be next year. Uncle David could teach him since Uncle David used to teach swimming lessons years ago at the Y. But we don't have a pool to go to for him to teach him. Donald and I measured Nathan the other day he is 45 inches long and weighs 40 pounds. He is tall and slim. Tomorrow we are going to a water Birthday party for some twin boys in Nathan's class. The twins names are Braydon and Gavin. Gavin and Nathan are friends and Nathan aggravates Braydon. It is so funny because Ms. Faye said that Gavin and Nathan were the only two kids that did not play with the other kids and only played by themselves and one day they started playing with each other. Donald said that maybe Nathan could sense that Gavin was like him. Their mom, Brandy, is the secretary at the school and also my friend, she was in their classroom yesterday morning when I dropped Nathan off. She said that Gavin and Nathan just lit up when they saw each other. She said then they went over to each other and gave each other a hug. Their type of hug no hands or arms used just kind of leaned into each other and touched shoulders. Brandy said that maybe that was the autistic hug. Gavin has mild autism and we have been told that Nathan has some signs of mild autism. It makes Donald and and me very happy that he has a friend. Brandy also signed a waiver for Kindergarten next year and they will be in Nathan's class next year at North Hills. Well I guess I have rambled long enough just thought I would update everyone about Nathan's friend Gavin.

Western Day
Today is western day at school. So of course I had to take pictures of Nathan dressed up. And of course the one picture he smiled in that he actually wore his hat for is blurry. I was surprised he put his hat on. He is not much of a hat person. He did not want to wear his holster and wanted to take it off so I told him that Ms. Harris or Ms. Faye would take it off for him. Well enjoy the few pictures I got of him dressed up.

The Joys of Summer
Well I am not sure if it is such a joy for Donald to mow but it is for Nathan to watch him mow. Nathan loves to watch people mow and use weed eaters and blowers. Here are a few pictures of Donald mowing and Nathan at the front door and looking out the windows at Donald mowing. He will usually jump and laugh and run from the front door to window when Donald is mowing the sides. When the neighbors mow he will stand at the window or front door and watch them mow the entire yard. He is so funny. Well here we are in the HOT, HOT, HUMID Arkansas summer and summer has not officially started yet. I think we are in for a HOT one. Thank goodness that our air conditioner is working good. Nathan goes to school this summer which will be good for him because he will get all his therapy. He brought home a paper the other day and they are going to be doing different summer activities every Friday. So that will be fun for him. We will probably take him out of school on some Fridays that Donald is off to go swimming at the Splash Zone. I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and try to stay cool.
