Merry Christmas

Christmas CardI hope everyone has had a great Christmas. We have had a wonderful day. It started out this morning with Donald, Nathan and Me opening our presents and seeing what Santa brought this morning and we cooked a few things. Then we went over to Memaw and Granddad's for lunch and more opening presents. David and his family were also there. We had a great time opening presents. Our plan is to go to Texas on Monday and come back Wednesday. It will be a fast short trip but I know it will be a good one. Robert and Becca and their kids are planning on going to Texas tomorrow. And Shawn and his family will come down Tuesday for a visit. Nathan goes back to school on the 3rd and I guess things will start to get back to normal. I plan to start putting some of the Christmas stuff back tomorrow. It is fun to get it all out and decorate but I am usually ready to get it put back up and everything back in place very shortly after Christmas. I guess that is all for now I will try to get back on after our trip and let everyone know how it was and post pictures if I take any(which of course you know I will).

Christmas Break

Well we are officially on Christmas break. Nathan is out of school this week and next week. We have been running errands and just hanging out at the house and of course going to see Granddad and Memaw. We are planning on spending Christmas day at Memaw and Granddad's house. Poor Uncle David had surgery(hiatal hernia removed and then repair work done from that)and he can't eat solid food for a while so Memaw is going to make sure there is enough mashed potatoes and banana pudding for him. He is doing good recovering and said it is strange that he does not have constant heart burn or have to take Prilosec every day. We went to the state capitol a week ago and had a fun time then we went and drove through one of the big light displays. We are planning on going to Texas the Monday after Christmas for a few days. Donald's older brother, Robert and his family are going to be there, they live in New Mexico and his younger brother, Shawn live outside Dallas so we will see them also. So we are hoping for a nice trip. I guess that updates everyone for now. I hope everyone has a very wonderful Christmas.

Wonderful Thanksgiving

Hello to everyone I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did at the Hullett house. We had my family here and Donald's mom and Shawn and his family. We did have a nice Thanksgiving. I was a little disappointed in the Black Friday shopping. I think the stores ruined it when they opened early like at midnight because a lot of those people that were there at midnight stayed until 5:00 and got in line for stuff. So next year it might be different and we might not venture out until around 7:30 or 8:00. Rachel went with us this year and I was surprised to see her in the car at 4:30 when Mother came and got me. She was a trooper but I don't think it was as fun as she thought it would be so we will see if she goes with us next year. We did have a lot of fun though. Our ornament party is getting closer and closer it is going to be on the 11th and it will be our 8th year to have the party. We always have such a good time. Nathan is having a Christmas store at his school and I have volunteered to help at it. I am going to help tomorrow and Thurs. and maybe some next week. Well I guess that pretty much updates everyone on what is going on here.

Almost Thanksgiving

It is so hard to believe that it is almost Thanksgiving. We will have Thanksgiving here at our house like we do every year. My family will be here and Irene and Shawn and his family so we are expecting 15 people. Then of course Black Friday is my favorite day and Mother and I will be out early getting in the middle of the crowds and finding bargains(we will miss you Aunt Trish). Not much has been going on. Nathan is still doing alright in school he has had a few not so good days on being good but his teacher is so sweet and says everyone has some bad days. But overall he is doing good. We did buy an iPad because they use one in Nathan's class and we knew he would be able to use it and he really likes to get on it and do the stuff that is on there for him. Of course I am really enjoying it also it is really nice. Nathan just has to go to school two days next week he is out on Wed., Thurs., and Friday so we are going to have fun. The weather has started really cooling off and we have had some real cool days. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Trunk or Treat

Halloween Trick or TreatWe had Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot last night. We had a lot of fun. Nathan was dressed like a knight. It is hard to find a costume for him because he does not like to wear masks or hats or like to have paint on his face. So the knight costume was great because it was just a shirt and pants. He was not to into getting candy but did have fun looking at all the lights people had in their trunks. The weather was perfect not too cold or not too hot. But it is a lot cooler today to hopefully the fall weather will start feeling like fall now and stay that way.

Also there was an awards assembly at school and Nathan got two awards one for perfect attendance and citizenship. I was a little surprised by the citizenship award because he has had a few rough days and was not so good. We had his parent teacher conference last week and his teachers said he is doing good and loves working on the computer. There was a progress note from his speech therapist and she said he is doing great especially with formulating sentences. So Donald and I were pleased. I talked to his speech therapist at the school Fall festival and asked her if she would always be his speech therapist as long as he was in the elementary school and she said yes. So that really makes me happy because Nathan really does like her.

I guess that is about all the new things that have happened here. We did go back to Magic Springs last Saturday and even bought our season passes for next year. We might go one more time this Saturday. Donald's birthday is Sunday on Halloween. He always said it was great to have a birthday on Halloween because you got gifts plus got to go trick or treating and get candy. We will probably to trick or treating Sunday night after church.

The Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. It felt more like summer than fall. We had to pull our shorts out for the day. I am ready for it to turn cool and stay cool. We did have fun though. Rachel went with us and she picked out a pumpkin in the patch. We went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. We had a fun time. Rachel's birthday was Wednesday so we are going over to Memaw and Granddad's tonight for a small party. Rachel wanted tacos so Memaw is fixing tacos. So we have had a fun day. I hope everyone has a great week.

Nathan had his school picture taken yesterday. I told them not to tell him to say cheese. Because that is what he did last year and his cheese smile is not the best. We have to pay before we see the pictures so we always get the smallest package. We have the first parent teacher conference on the 19th. I am going Friday to the Northwest part of the state for War Eagle(a big craft thing) with Memaw and her friend(they go every year). We are leaving Friday and spending the night and coming home on Saturday. It should be fun.

Happy Fall Y'all

Well Fall is officially here. Actually it got here last week but it is starting to feel more like Fall every day. We went to Magic Springs for our final time until next summer today. During October they do something called Magic Screams during the day there is not anything scary just Fall and Halloween decorations but during the night is when the creepy scary things come out and they have some haunted houses and stuff. It was a fun day and the weather was wonderful. So of course we plan on getting season passes for next year also because we had so much fun during the summer going.

Nathan is doing good in school. Donald taught him how to use the computer the other day and use the mouse so now he knows how to use the computer all by himself. They are also teaching him the key board at school to type some of his words. It is so wild to me that he is just 7 and is learning how to use a computer. Memaw has been on an 11 day trip she gets back tomorrow afternoon. We have all missed her and are ready for her to come home. Granddad is getting strength back in his arm after his shoulder replacement surgery and doing very well. We are planning on going to a pumpkin patch next weekend. Then the next weekend I am planning on going to the Northwest part of the state and go to War Eagle(a huge craft thing)well we aren't really going to War Eagle just very close by and to some things that are like War Eagle. Memaw and her friend go every year and I am going with them this year. We will leave Friday morning and get back Saturday afternoon. It should be a lot of fun.

Well I guess that updates everyone on what is going on here. I will probably take some pictures next weekend at the pumpkin patch and post them. I hope everyone has a great week and enjoys this Fall weather.

Happy Birthday to Nathan

Make A WishToday is Nathan's 7th birthday. It is so hard to believe that is has been 7 years since he come into this world. Our lives changed for the best. We had his birthday party on Saturday at the Jump Zone again for the third year in a row. It is such an awesome place to have a party and it is so stress free. There were 8 kids including Nathan and that was a good amount. He got some nice gifts. Of course the first gift he opened was number cards so he was done and got what he wanted. I guess I should have asked who got him numbers and those would have been the last to open. But when we got home and we got all the gifts out of the boxes he pretty much played with everything. After the party we had Memaw and Granddad and Uncle David, Aunt Michele and Daniel and Rachel over for birthday cake and burgers and hot dogs. It was Memaw's birthday on Saturday. Memaw Hullett was here for the party too. So we had another successful birthday party.

Another trip to Magic Springs

We went back to Magic Springs on Labor Day. It was not crowded at all, which I was surprised about. The water was a little cool but we still got in the water and had fun. The only drag was that the balloon ride was not working(that is Nathan's favorite ride). We played a game where Nathan picked a rubber duck and won a prize. He loves to watch the ducks in the water. We are planning on going back in Oct. some Saturdays for Magic Screams. So we hope that will be fun.

Yeah! They changed the times at Nathan's school. The new hours which start on Monday are going to be 8:20 until 3:10. Which I am happy about the 3:10 is a lot better than the 4:00. Nathan did not like the long days at school. Last week his teacher told me that with about an hour left in the day he refused to do any more work so we had to finish it at home. So the hours were not working for him either.

Nathan's birthday is Monday and we are having his birthday party Saturday. I will post pictures from his party and let everyone know how much fun we had. Memaw Hullett is coming tomorrow. Saturday is Memaw's birthday so Saturday night we are going to have burgers, hot dogs and I am going to make a cake. Memaw and Granddad and David and his family are coming over. So we will celebrate Memaw and Nathan's birthdays. Granddad still has his sling on and will get it off on the 21st. He is so ready since it is his right arm and Memaw is also ready to get it off. He is doing real well.

First Day of School

Back to School FrownWell we got Nathan dropped off this morning for his first day of first grade. The times of the school have changed. Last year he went from 7:45 until 2:30 this year he goes from 8:30 until 4:00. I am not complaining about the later start time but I really don't like the going until 4:00. I really was not ready for school to start because we have been having such a fun summer. But Oh Well I guess that is part of life. Nathan is in the same class(the transition class) as last year but as a first grader there are three first graders in the class. Then he will go to a regular first grade class for one hour a day with a paraprofessional. So I am happy that he has the same teacher most of the day. He said he was ready to go back to school and he did fine this morning. It is just going to be a long day with their new hours.

I told Donald that I did not think Nathan would even notice the change in the times of the school. Well silly me, his teacher said that around 2:00(I picked him up at 2:15 last year)he started saying it is time for Mommy to come and Mommy is coming. So I told him that when the little hand is on the 4 Mommy will be there to pick him up. They did say he did a lot better today about the time.

Happy Birthday to Me

Birthday Party BlowerToday is my birthday and so far it has been great. I got a beautiful diamond necklace from Donald and a birthstone bracelet and earrings from Irene. We are going over to Memaw and Granddad's house for lunch and Memaw is going to make me one of her wonderful chocolate pies for my birthday. Then tonight Donald is going to take me to dinner and a movie while Memaw babysits. So it is going to be a great day.

Yesterday was the last week day(well besides labor day)that Magic Springs was open so we went and had a very HOT but good time. I am just glad that there is the water park right there it makes it a little easier to go to the amusement park side when you know that you can soon get in the water. We are going to try to go labor day and see how crowded it is. The amusement park is open until October and during October they are doing something called Magic Screams for Halloween so we are going to do that. I am sad that school is starting Thursday because it just seems like the summer break just started. We have had so much fun this summer. We plan on getting season passes again next year for Magic Springs. I posted a couple of pictures for everyone to enjoy.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and great week. I will write again and let everyone know how Nathan's first day of first grade goes.

Summer Break is almost over

It is so hard to believe that school starts in 12 days. I am still having a lot of fun and I am not ready for Nathan to go back to school. We have been trying to go to Magic Springs as much as possible. Donald is off a lot next week so we are probably going to try to go at least 4 days. We have so much fun when we go. We went on Tuesday and today, so I thought I would post a few pictures. This is the first summer Nathan has not been in school since he was 3 so we have really enjoyed our summer with him. It has been a very very HOT summer but that is to be expected in Arkansas. He is still going to therapy and we are going to try to keep going right up until school starts. He will start getting therapy at school when it starts. He has one more week of swimming lessons. He has done fairly well but he can kick better and use his arms better. I guess that updates everyone on what is going on here.

Granddad has been having a lot of problems with his shoulder and went to the Dr. today and he said it is bone on bone and has scheduled him for a complete shoulder replacement surgery on August 23, that is if his heart Dr. says it is okay. We are hoping he will be able to have it because he has been having so much trouble and has been in so much pain with his shoulder. I will keep everyone updated. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Road Trip

Nathan and I got back today from Oklahoma to pick Memaw up. We are so happy Memaw is home we missed her so much. Memaw and Aunt Trish went up to Washington to visit Aunt Bobbie. They had a very good trip. So Nathan and I drove to Uncle Terry and Aunt Trish's house. We went swimming in their pool which was sooo nice. Then we went to dinner with Uncle Terry and then went to the airport and picked Memaw and Aunt Trish up. It was a fast trip but Nathan loves to ride in the car so much that he did not care that it was a one day trip. Donald is gone this whole week to Gulfport for some training and he will be home Saturday.

It is so hard to believe that school is just around the corner. We are going to go to Magic Springs probably a few more times before Nathan goes back to school. Donald is planning on taking leave the week before he goes back to school so we might go every day that week. We really don't have anything special planned for that week so we will see what happens.

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week.

Happy Independence Day

Smiley Fireworks I hope everyone is having a great day. We are planning on going to the base tonight and watch the fireworks. We like going there because it is not super crowded and easy to get in and out of and there is usually free ice cream and drinks. So Cousin John is coming over tonight and we are going to go watch the fireworks. Hopefully it won't be too hot, because it has been super hot lately.

We have been busy this summer. It is hard to believe that there are only 6 weeks left of summer. It is too short. I was worried that we would not have enough to do since this is Nathan's first summer not going to school. Nathan goes to therapy twice a week and goes to swimming lessons twice a week and we have been trying to go to Magic Springs at least once a week. So we are staying busy. Donald took Daniel and Rachel to Magic Springs on Friday by himself. Nathan and I stayed home. He said they all had fun so we will probably take them back with us a few more times before the summer is over. I will try to take some pictures of the water park and Nathan playing in the water next time we go because he loves the water so much and has so much fun. His swimming lessons are going good. Ms. Tami(the paraprofessional that was in his class)is a good teacher for him. He loves to go to her house and swim with her.

I guess that updates everyone. I hope everyone has a great week.

Just thought I would add that we did go to the fireworks on base. They were giving away free ice cream, drinks and t-shirts. We had fun the only problem was that after about 5 minutes of fireworks Nathan had seen enough. So for the next 30 minutes or so he just said they are close to the end. the fireworks are over time to go. He kept his fingers in his ears the whole time. He wanted to see them just not the whole show. But we did stay for the whole show and then he was telling us they were loud.

Road Trip to Texas

We took a short road trip to Texas this weekend. We left Saturday and came home Sunday. But we did have a good visit with Aunt Janice, Uncle Norman and Aunt Dorothy. We also had dinner with Memaw Hullett and went to church with her. The downside of the whole trip was that Nathan got chiggers. We went to put flowers on Donald's Dad and Grandmother's graves before church and Nathan sat down on the ground for not even two minutes and got chiggers. He was acting up a little in church and got in trouble then last night during his bath Donald discovered them, they were not in the best spot for a little boy. So we figure that is why he was acting up in church he was itching. So we are putting Benadryl no itch gel on.

Nathan lost his other front tooth this morning. So his two front teeth are gone and of course he looks adorable. He went to therapy again this morning. His therapist's name is Rachel and he really really likes her he is ready to go see her. He goes on Mon. and Wed. for an hour each day. So we are pleased that he really likes his therapist. Ms. Tami(one of the paraprofessionals from his class)is going to start doing swimming lessons for him this afternoon at her house. We have been wanting to get him lessons for a while and we think this will work out real well. It is HOT HOT HOT so we are going back to Magic Springs/Crystal Falls tomorrow and probably Friday. We will probably spend most of our time in the water park side this time. I hope everyone has a great week. Try to stay Cool.

Summer Fun

We had a good time at Splash Zone yesterday. It was our first trip to the big swimming pool(this is what Nathan calls the Splash Zone). The weather was HOT so the water felt great. We stayed a little over two hours. Then we came home and got ready for church. I guess the combo of the sun and water really wore Nathan out because he fell asleep at church. Donald and I were surprised because Nathan NEVER takes a nap so we knew he was worn out. We are planning on going back to Magic Springs tomorrow and we are going to go to the amusement park side and ride a few rides then we are going to go to Crystal Falls the water park slide for a few hours.

Our anniversary is Friday hard to believe that we have been married almost 16 years. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and great family. We might go to Texas on Saturday just for a few days.

We check on Nathan every night before we go to bed and this is what we saw the other night. He had gotten all of his stuffed animals and dolls and put them on his bed then he got in bed and went to sleep. I just had to take a few pictures because he looked so adorable. But of course according to Memaw I think he is adorable no matter what he is wearing or doing and of course she thinks that also.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

School is out let the Summer fun begin

School's Out Yeah! Yesterday was the last day of school and today we went to Magic Springs. A small amusement park in Hot Springs. We had a good time. There is also a Water Park so we are planning on going to the water park next week. We bought season passes so we are planning on going a lot this summer. The first ride Nathan rode was the wooden roller coaster. Donald and I figured we would just start big and hopefully not traumatize him. But he liked it and he really liked the kiddie rides. So now we are looking forward to having a great summer. Nathan starts occupational therapy next week. He will be going twice a week for an hour each time. So we are happy that he will be getting two hours of therapy a week. Also one of his Paraprofessionals said she would give Nathan swimming lessons at her house. So we are going to start swimming lessons in the next couple of weeks.

Another tooth out

One of Nathan's front teeth came out this morning. I was wondering about him not getting and loose teeth and now two have come out within a couple of weeks of each other. His front tooth was real loose last night and we figured Daddy would have to help this one come out too. But this morning Memaw Hullett came down stairs and said he smiled for her and his tooth was gone so we checked and he was sitting on his bed and his tooth was laying on the bed so we figure he either pulled it out or he worked it out with his tongue. So now he has a tooth gone from the top and bottom. Although you can see the tooth coming in on the bottom. Memaw Hullett came for a visit this weekend and she will be leaving tomorrow. We went to the Travelers baseball game Friday night and had a good time. We ate brisket and Granddad came over yesterday for lunch and then later that afternoon we went to Funland at Burns Park and it was fun but really HOT. We have had some HOT weather so I am thinking that we are in for a HOT HOT summer. I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day.

Yeah! Nathan's 1st loose tooth came out

With a little help from Daddy. So Nathan lost his first tooth. I was worried that he would either swallow it or lose it at school so I asked Donald if he could look at it and pull it. It was real real loose so he did not have any trouble getting it out. I guess the tooth fairy will visit tonight. Not much else has been going on. Nathan got hurt yesterday. I left the key in the treadmill and he came in the room and got on the treadmill and I did not realize I had left the key in until Nathan turned it on full blast and went flying off the end. He got a little burn on his left arm by his elbow it almost looks like a carpet burn and a little bruise. He did cry so I am sure it hurt(he only cries when he is really hurt)and I also think it scared him. So I felt bad because I never leave the key in it. But not too bad of an injury. Not much else is going on just thought I would report about the first tooth that came out.

Finally Nathan has his first loose tooth

I noticed his tooth the other day and it looked crooked or chipped. Well last night Nathan finally let Donald look at the tooth and touch it and Yes it is loose. I just hope he does not lose it on the playground and school or somewhere else. I figure he is going to come home one day with no tooth. I told his teachers today and they said they would watch it. It is exciting that he is going to lose his first tooth. It is hard to believe that there are only two weeks of school left. This will be the first summer that Nathan is not in school so Memaw and I are going to try to think of things to do this summer. Because Memaw will have Daniel and Rachel this summer. It is going to be a fun summer.

We are so proud of Nathan. They have Christ's kids at church where they learn memory work and Nathan did his and got a certificate. What he had to know was First Man and Woman, Jesus' Mother and Father, Days of Creation, Books of the New Testament, Acts of Worship, 10 Plagues, Fruits of the Spirit. So we are very proud of him. He went up and got his certificate and did not stand where they wanted him to and then sat down. Every year they add more stuff as the kid gets older. So now we are going to start working on the next level.

Well I guess that is about all that is going on here. I am getting ready to get out and vote. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day BasketHappy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers who look at my blog. I hope that all of you have had a good day. We went to Memaw and Granddad's house for a cookout. Uncle David, Aunt Michele and Daniel and Rachel were there. Cousin John also came over to eat. We had good burgers that Uncle David cooked on Memaw's new grill. Memaw also made a yellow cake and we had strawberries with Cool Whip on top. Everything was good. I got a sweet card from Donald and Nathan and Rachel and Daniel gave me a sweet card. Donald also got me a nice silver necklace that is the open heart design by Jany Seymour. So I have had a very nice Mother's Day.

We are so proud of Nathan because he finished his memory work at church. He told his teacher, Who Jesus' Mother and Father was. Who was the first man and woman. Days of Creation. Books of the New Testament. Acts of Worship. 10 Plagues. Fruits of the Spirit. He memorized all of this and told his teacher. So there will be a small ceremony next Sunday night and they will get a certificate. It is called Christ's Kids that they do at church. There are different levels for each age. So Daddy and I are very proud of him for getting this done.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Funland

There are some rides at Burns Park called Funland and we went on Saturday and Nathan rode the kiddie rides but also the big rides. So now we are thinking that we may try to take a trip to Six Flags this summer. It was a beautiful day and we all had a good time. Nathan was riding the kiddie rides(actually he is too tall for some)then Donald and I asked him if he wanted to ride the tilt a whirl and the scrambler and he said yes. He really liked the tilt a whirl and rode it twice. The scrambler is ever faster than the tilt a whirl but he liked it. So it made us happy that he liked the "big" rides. Not much else happened over the weekend. I cooked poppy seed chicken Saturday night and Memaw and Granddad came over and also Cousin John and his friend Barbara. I hope everyone has a great week.

The Arkansas Travelers baseball

We had a great weekend. We went to see the Travs play ball. Memaw and Granddad have season tickets and their seats are great. All we had to do were buy tickets and take our own chairs and we could sit by their seats. We went Friday night and Saturday night. Nathan had a good time and was very good. Where the seats are Nathan is able to stand up and walk around without disturbing anyone. We are planning on trying to go to a lot more games this summer.

We had Nathan's annual review at school. They said he has improved and progressed a lot and he is doing very good. He will continue with his speech, occupational and physical therapies next year with the same therapist. The plan is to put Nathan in the transition class as a 1st grader(very scary knowing he will be in the 1st grade)and he will go to a regular 1st grade class for one hour a day with a paraprofessional(aide). If he does very good they can increase the amount of time in a regular class. So I feel very good about next year and have no worries. I guess I can start worrying again this time next year when we are getting ready for the 2nd grade.

Happy Tax Day

Well I guess it can be happy for some people who are getting a refund. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous even though the pollen has been awful. Nathan had a field trip last Friday they walked to the fire department. I drove to the school and hid out in the parking lot to see them walking to the station and they all looked so cute. I had to really keep out of sight because I know Nathan and he was looking around and there is nothing wrong with his eyes so I am sure he would have spotted the car if he could have seen it. They are going on another field trip tomorrow and are going to a gymnastics place and jump around and have a good time. I think either this month or next month they are going to go to the zoo. We have a meeting about Nathan on Monday. I already talked to the speech therapist that is in his room and she said their plan with Nathan is that he will stay in the class for half the day and then go to a regular 1st grade class with a paraprofessional(aide) with him. His teacher told me that the other day she was using the number flash cards and they were counting to 30(which everyone that knows Nathan knows he loves numbers and he has counted to 150)she said that some of the kids did not know all the numbers and Nathan was calling them all out, so she told him he could go the the play area since he did so good. He went to the play area and she was going over the cards again with the other kids and she said he was just straining to see and when she would ask the kids what the number was she said she could hear Nathan calling out the number. I guess that is it for the update I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Bunny Happy Easter to everyone. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. I just got back yesterday afternoon. My Mom and I left on Wednesday and drove to Oklahoma City because my Uncle had surgery on Thursday. We had my GPS so we went driving around Oklahoma City and found a good mall to go to on Friday and we had dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse and it was YUM. Like Mother said if we did not have the GPS we would have stayed in the hotel and at the hospital but we were adventuresome and got out. We also got to have dinner on Wednesday with Uncle Terry and Aunt Trish and really enjoyed the short visit with them. Wednesday before I left I went to an awards assembly at Nathan's school. He got another Citizenship ribbon and they had a little assembly so the kids could get their ribbons. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and great week.

Spring Break Fun

It is hard to believe that Spring Break is almost over and Nathan goes back to school on Monday. We did not go anywhere big but we did have a fun week. On Monday we went to visit some friends. Nathan got to see his friends Gavin and Braydon who went to school with him at North Hills. I also got to visit with my good friend Brandy. We had a good day hanging out with them at their house. We went to Hot Springs on Wednesday and Memaw went with us. We had a good time shopping and eating lunch. We even drove by the race track when we were leaving and even saw some horses on the track. They were getting ready for a race. So we had a fun day. Of course Nathan would have loved to stay on the road all day riding. He loves to ride in the car and always tells me he wants to stay on the Interstate when we get off. We went to Little Rock yesterday and did a few things. Today was a beautiful day and windy so it was great kite flying weather so we went to the playground and played and flew the kite. My Uncle is having surgery on Thursday in Oklahoma City so Mother and I are driving there for the surgery. We are planning on leaving Wednesday and coming home on Saturday. So Nathan is going to be having some good Daddy/Nathan time. Donald took leave on Wednesday and Thursday and he is off Friday and Nathan is out of school on Friday. I am sure they will have a lot of fun. I hope everyone has a great week.

The Daffodils at Wye Mountain

Today was a very beautiful day. There is a small town in Arkansas named Wye and every year they have a daffodil festival. There is a church that has a lot of acres and they are covered in daffodils. We have gone several years. Nathan's first visit he was just 6 months old. We decided to go look at the daffodils since the weather was so nice. Nathan was not too thrilled about having his picture taken but we got a few. Spring break is this week and we don't have a lot of plans. Nathan and I are going to go to spend the day with Braydon and Gavin(Nathan's friends from North Hills) and Brandy. So we are looking forward to that. Then another day we will probably go to Little Rock to run a few errands. Then I think on Friday we are planning on going to Hot Springs with Memaw. So we are just going to do a few local things and not anything big, but I am sure we are going to have a great Spring Break.

What has been happening.

First of all I want to say I am sorry that it has been over a month since I last blogged. I want to say I am sorry to the friends and family that check out my blog often for updates(sorry Aunt Trish). Okay here is what has been happening in the last month. Since we got our snow and four days out of school(I called it our winter break) the weather is starting to get to be so nice and has been gorgeous and giving us all spring fever. We had stormy weather last Wed. night and a few tornadoes outside of Little Rock. That is the one thing about this time of year it is tornado weather.

Yesterday we went to the Pinewood Derby or Powder puff Derby is what is was called. Rachel is a brownie this year and she had a car in the Derby. She won two of the races but did not get any trophy. It was fun and Nathan did enjoy seeing the cars race. Last night Donald's cousin John came over for dinner and Donald and John played a little bit of guitar hero before John left. John lives in Conway and is a professor at UCA so we get to see him often. Donald said he has spent more time with John now then he ever did growing up. Last week we went to John's house and he had made dinner. He has two little poodles and Nathan seemed to like them. Memaw Hullett came for the weekend. She is planning on going home tomorrow.

They are having a book fair at Nathan's school next week and Donald and I are planning on volunteering to help next Friday. Nathan's spring break is the week of March 22nd. We are not planning on going anywhere but I am sure Memaw, Nathan and I will go on a few day trips to Hot Springs and maybe Conway. It is hard to believe that Nathan only has a little over two months of school left. It is a little scary. This class Nathan is in now is so great and I really wish he could stay there until he graduates. We are planning on getting Nathan some Occupational Therapy during the summer. We really think that Nathan can not go two months with out any kind of therapy and we don't want him to regress. It is going to be with a therapist that he has had and she is so sweet and Nathan loves her.

Well I guess I will close for now. Hopefully this has updated everyone. I will definitely try to be better about blogging and try not to wait so long the next time. I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Another Snow Day

Snow Day We got a surprise when we woke up on Monday morning. We woke up to snow and the schools were closed. It was very pretty snowing. It is Wednesday and the schools are still closed. It is supposed to get above freezing today so maybe stuff will start thawing. It did not get above freezing yesterday so there was not much thawing. They tack on days at the end of the year for snow days and so far this year we have had 5 snow days so instead of getting out the first week of June they will get out the second week. But I am okay with that because I hate driving in this kind of weather and when we went back to school after the last snow day the sidewalks at the school were a solid sheet of ice, no fun. Nathan's school is mostly outdoors. Donald did make it to work today and said he did not have any problems, he said the roads are clear but the parking lots were awful. Our driveway is still bad. So Nathan and I will stay in once again today. I did take a few pictures when we got out on Monday. Nathan is supposed to have his Valentine party on Friday so hopefully they will be able to go back to school by then. I bet he will go back tomorrow. Then they are out on Monday for a Teacher work day. So this has been like a Winter break.

Snow Day

No SchoolWell it is more of a sleet icy day and not much snow. The weather people keep saying it is going to just get worse so maybe we will have some snow before it is all over. Nathan is home and Donald is also home, he was supposed to fly today but the flight got cancelled so he stayed home. So since I was stuck in the house I decided to clean. Nathan decided to sweep for me and I took some cute pictures he even got under the chair. So I got the house cleaned and decided to write a little on the blog.

I kept Nathan home from school last Thursday. He had a cough and runny nose and sounded congested. We are still not sure if it was a cold or change or weather or what. We just kept him in and gave him some Tylenol Cold Medicine which really seems to help him. He went back to school Friday but was still coughing that night and his nose started running again so I kept him in all weekend and we did not go anywhere. Donald was gone on a weekend trip so Nathan and I just stayed in. He is back to 100% now. Not much else is going on. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

We went outside and played some. We have had mostly sleet and no snow. I want snow. But it did make good sledding.

Nathan got two more ribbons

Nathan got two more ribbons at school. He got another Citizenship award and perfect attendance. So we are proud of him. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Rachel is playing basketball again this year so we went to her game this morning and her team won. They keep score this year I guess for her age group. She really likes basketball and has a lot of fun playing. David is one of the coaches again this year. Not much has been going on, the weather has been nice not near as cold as it has been. We are going over to Memaw and Granddad's tonight to have dinner and birthday cake. Today is David's 46th birthday and Michele's birthday is on the 25th. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend and week.

Happy New Year

2010 New YearsHappy New Year to everyone. It is hard to believe that it is already 2010 I remember when everyone was panicking when the year 2000 hit. We did not do anything exciting last night. Daddy and I watched a movie and after the ball drops in New York which is 11:00 our time we went to bed. I am not near as young as I used to be it is harder for me to stay up until midnight than it used to be. We went to Memaw and Granddad's for lunch and Memaw made a great lunch and of course we had our black eyed peas. Memaw always make sure that everyone eats black eyed peas on New Years Day.

Daddy, Nathan and I went to Texas on Monday and came home Tuesday. It was a day early but they were saying that it was supposed to snow on Tuesday and we did not want to take a chance on getting stuck in bad weather. But we did get to visit with Aunt Janice, Uncle Norman and Aunt Dorothy and had a good visit with them. We went to Ovilla on Tuesday morning and had lunch with Aunt Khristy, Caitlin, J.D. and Quinn and left after lunch and got home about 7:00. It was a fast trip but we had a good time and Nathan loves to ride in the car and enjoyed the ride. He loves it when we pass the trucks or when the trucks pass us. Memaw keeps telling me that I should take a trip to Memphis with him so he can see a lot of trucks. It is just a two hour drive so maybe one day. Nathan starts school on Monday. I have really enjoyed having him home with me. He got to do some running around with Memaw and Me some so we had fun. I hope everyone has a great week.
