Donald finished another 100 mile bike ride

Bike Riding Yeah! Donald finished the Big Dam Bridge 100 mile bike ride. He finished in a little over 6 hours. He said it was tough, there were a lot of hills. He also got leg cramps that delayed him some. He said he just ate a bunch of pickles and finished the 100 miles. This makes the third 100 mile bike ride he has done this year. He is planning on going to the UCA(University of Central Arkansas) football game with his cousin John, who is a teacher at the University and lives in Conway). He is taking a short nap before he goes.

Mema is back from her trip and we are all happy here. She was gone to Colorado with the church group for 11 days. She said she really had a good time. We all missed her very much. We went to the commissary this morning and Nathan could not have been any better. Nathan brought home a progress report from his teacher and she said that it has been a joy getting to know Nathan and he is a delightful boy. She said he comes to her reading table and works well there. The only thing that needs improvement is practicing self control. He also ate pretty well at lunch this week. They had chili mac one day and they said Nathan wanted two helpings and on pizza day he ate a bunch and yesterday was spaghetti that they said he chowed down on. I was not really surprised by the pizza and spaghetti but I was about the chili mac. Donald and I are buying his lunch every day at school because we know he will end up eating more and different things. So school is going good for him. He really likes his teacher and every morning says we are going to see Mrs. Ross. I guess that is about all the news, I did post a few pictures. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend and great week.

Happy Birthday Nathan

Birthday Party BlowerToday is Nathan's 6th birthday. It is hard to believe that he is already 6. We had his birthday party yesterday at the Jump Zone again and it was a lot of fun. There were 14 kids and they all had a good time. Mema Hullett came for the party and she is going back to Texas today. I hope everyone has a great week.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day BBQI hope everyone has a great Labor Day. Just thought I would write a little bit. Nathan has been doing very well in school. There are just a few things that the teacher said he needed to work on. He does not really like to color and when the teacher has told him to color sometimes he does not. She also said that he told her no when she told him to stay on his mat at nap time(I think Nathan is the only child that does not take a nap). Also one day he was doing lines and the teacher said he did real well then he scribbled on the page and she wrote a little note on the page. She did send home a little note that said Nathan was participating in the pre-reading group and was doing well. So far each week he brings home papers on Friday and they are learning a color and how to spell it and what things are that color. Last week it was red and they learn a song, this week it was blue. I sang the blue song and then I asked Nathan if he could spell blue and he sang the song and spelled blue then I asked him if he could spell red and he sang the song and spelled red. So I guess some things are sinking in. Next Friday they are having lunch and have invited Grandparents for Grandparents day. So Mema and Granddad and I will be going for lunch. Then next Saturday is the big birthday party for Nathan. He is having a Wolverine birthday. It will be at the Jump Zone again this year so I know we will have fun. I will post pictures of his party.

One more thing I forgot to post that Donald rode in the Hotter N Hell 100 mile bike ride in Wichita Falls last Saturday. He rode it in a little less than 6 hours. He got home Sat. night around 10:45. The next big ride for him is pm Sept. 26 it is the Big Dam Bridge 100 mile bike ride. I guess that is it, I think I have updated everyone.
