Another Day at Splash Zone

Silly me saying we would probably not go back to Splash Zone because it was starting to cool off. I must have just been dreaming that it was starting to get cooler because it is not getting cooler it is still HOT. Monday is the last day that the Splash Zone will be open so we will probably go back on Monday also. Well we decided to go today after Donald rode his bike, he rode 56 miles today. We got there and the water felt great. We played some in the big pool and mostly stayed in the kiddie pool. Well one time Donald and I were sitting on one side of the kiddie pool and Nathan was in the water and then got on one side of the slide in the kiddie pool and we could not see him. So I walked over to the other side of the pool and could not see Nathan so I asked Donald if he saw him. Donald said no so I got out of the kiddie pool and looked in the big pool and saw this little boy that was flailing his arms and trying to stay above water and my heart dropped because it was Nathan. The lifeguard saw him the same time I did and we both jumped in at the same time. Nathan was not crying but seemed a little scared although I think I was more scared than he was. He tried to go back in the big pool but we said he had to go to the kiddie pool so he went back in the kiddie pool and played some more and acted like nothing happened. So Donald and I are definitely getting him swimming lessons next summer. I was so surprised that he jumped in on his own. So that was the excitement we had today.

Another Rainy Day

It has been raining off and on all day. We have had quite a bit of rain these past few days. We did need it. I took a few pictures of Nathan doing one of his favorite things, looking out the window in the spare room. For those of you that have never been to my house in the spare room are two windows and they are big windows and Nathan loves to stand on the window sill and look out the window. So today he was watching the rain. Donald also has a video rocker that Nathan loves to sit in and look out the window. Of course since it has been raining and not as hot we passed on going to the Splash Zone today. The water is already cold in the kiddie pool so we figured it would be extra cold today. We figured that our days at the Splash Zone might be over for the season. The last day it is open is Labor Day.

There is a small town not too far from here named Keo. There is a restaurant there named Charlotte's Eats and Sweets that is known for their pies. Well Donald, Mema, Nathan and I went there today for lunch and of course we all had to get a piece of pie. I got a piece of chocolate, Donald got Caramel, Mema got Coconut and of course Nathan got none because he is not much into sweets. Yes, he is my son and does not like sweets. His sweets consist of rice krispie treats, teddy grahams, Nilla Wafers and not much else. Anyway the pie was YUMMY!
Eating Pie
Not much else is going on. Donald rode 53 miles this morning on his bike. He is still training for the Big Dam 100 mile bike ride that is the end of Sept. Nathan's birthday is coming up in three weeks and we are going to have it at the Jump Zone. Of course I will take a lot of pictures and will tell everybody about the party. Nathan is doing real well in his new class. He really likes his new teacher. So we are very pleased. Well I hope everyone has a great week.

I Love being an Aunt

Now don't get me wrong I also LOVE being a Mom. I have two wonderful sweet nieces and five wonderful sweet nephews. Unfortunately I only get to see one of my nieces and one of my nephews often. For those of you that don't know my brother, David lives in the same town as I do so I get to see Rachel and Daniel often. Rachel is such a sweet sweet little girl. David called me yesterday and told me that Rachel had made my birthday present and they would have to come over some time. Last night there was a cook out and open house at the school so David and Rachel went and Rachel got to meet her new teacher. Rachel will be in the second grade and Daniel will be in the sixth so he starts middle school, which is so hard to believe. Anyway, David and Rachel came over last night after the cookout and she gave me my present which she had wrapped in orange tissue paper with a lot of tape. She had made me a necklace that said I love(a little heart) Sherri. She was so excited and I thought that was so sweet of her. I took a picture of it so y'all can see it too.

Happy Birthday to Me

Happy BirthdayToday is My Birthday so Happy Birthday to Me. So far it has been a good one, Donald gave me a beautiful peridot bracelet. I am going to go to lunch with one of my friends that I used to work with. Tonight my Mom and Dad are going to take us out to eat. So I think I am going to have a great birthday.

Nathan moved up to the 5 year old Kindergarten prep. class on Monday. He is not real good with change he cried on Monday and Tuesday but did good yesterday and today no tears. On Monday when we got to the parking lot he kept saying, "I want to see Ms. Harris." Ms. Harris was one of his teachers last year. When I pick him up he still has to go see Ms. Harris and Ms. Faye before we leave. I think Nathan still eats lunch with them. I think they all eat at the same time. But I think he will adjust fine. They work on the computer and Nathan loves doing that. He told me yesterday he was ready to go see Ms. Jane. She is his new teacher.

I went to my 25th high school class reunion a couple of weeks ago. It is hard to believe that I have been graduated from high school for 25 years. It was fun and I liked seeing all my friends from high school. The funny thing is that a lot of my classmates live in this area but I rarely see anyone. Of course a lot of my friends have kids starting college this fall and I have an almost 5 year old. Yes we are going to be the old parents.

Not much else is going on. Donald has been riding with a group on Sat. mornings training for the 100 mile bike ride that is at the end of Sept.

I guess that pretty much has updated everyone on what is going on here. I hope everyone has a great day on my birthday.

The Jump Zone

There is a place in North Little Rock called the Jump Zone that has all these inflatable slides and jump things. Well we went there the other day for the first time and Nathan liked it and had a lot of fun. So we have decided to have his birthday party that is next month at the Jump Zone. That should be a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures of Nathan at the Jump Zone. Also today was water slide day at school and Ms. Faye said Nathan had a great time.
