The new Pedestrian and Bike Bridge
They just completed the new pedestrian and bike bridge in Little Rock. It was an old railroad bridge and they made it into a pedestrian and bike bridge to go across the river. We went there today and it was nice. There are a few pictures and in a couple you can see the submarine that is on the river. It is the Razorback sub that was in WWII. There are tours through it and someday we will go through it. I hope everyone has had a wonderful and safe Memorial Day.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend
Since it is not officially Memorial Day since it is just Saturday I thought I would put Happy Memorial Day Weekend. We had a nice day. Irene came last night and will go back home on Monday. My Mom and Dad and David and Michele and the kids came over and Donald grilled out some burgers and hot dogs. Irene brought some brisket that was very good. The weather is very hot and humid. It rained earlier today so that just made it more humid and made it feel more like a sauna than before. There is going to be a Memorial Day ceremony and the Veteran's cemetery in North Little Rock on Monday and I think Donald and Irene are going to go. They usually do it at the big Veteran's cemetery in Little Rock but they said that they are going to start doing it in North Little Rock instead of Little Rock. Here are a few pictures of everyone that was here today. I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend and Memorial Day.Thursday, May 15, 2008
The Swing Set
We bought Nathan a swing set the other day and here are some pictures of him on his new swing set. He really likes to slide and swing and that is pretty much all he is interested in so we bought a small inexpensive swing set from Wal-Mart. It also has a teeter totter but Donald did not put it on. Now we can go in the backyard sometimes instead of having to go to the school playground or to Burns Park. The only problem is that Donald always swings with him at Burns Park and he wanted him to swing with him on this one and he didn't understand that Daddy was too big for this swing set and got mad because Daddy wouldn't swing.

Happy Mother's Day
Just thought I would say Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I have had a good Mother's day. Donald, Nathan and I went to eat Chinese food after church. Nathan loves the moo goo gui pan chicken and eats a lot of it(only the chicken none of the veggies). So we can always go eat Chinese food as long as there is moo goo gui pan. Donald got me a pretty watch and a sweet card and also a sweet card from Nathan. We went to Burns Park and played and Nathan went down the big rocket slide. He did not like it much. He preferred the smaller slide. We also went to the fun land that is at Burns Park that have small carnival rides. And we all got on the carousel and he rode on a horse with me holding on to him. But he held the bar and did good. After we went to the park we stopped at Mema & Granddad's house and gave her some cards. Then before we came home we stopped at Aunt Shell & Uncle David's house and Daniel and Rachel gave me some sweet cards. So I have had a very nice Mother's Day. I hope everyone else had a good one too.

The Zoo
Today we went to the zoo. The weather was real nice to go. It was cloudy and not hot. It was very comfortable. We got there and had only been there about 30 minutes when Nathan saw some water and water fall and did not want to leave the water. Once we finally got him to leave he kept saying he was ready to go bye bye. Well I was not ready to go after only 30 minutes so we got him to the fish and he fed the fish and we ended up staying longer. Nathan loves the fish and he really has fun feeding the fish. We had a good time. I posted some pictures of our trip to the zoo. The last picture has nothing to do with the zoo. Nathan will say the nursery rhyme To Market To Market. It makes me laugh every time he says it because of the way he says hog. This is a picture of Nathan saying hog.

Carnival
We went to a small carnival on the mall's parking lot last night and had a great time. We have never taken Nathan to the Fair or anything like that so we were not sure how he would do. He loved watching the rides, the tilt a whirl was his favorite to watch, and seeing the lights. We rode on the ferris wheel or the big circle is what Nathan called it. He did real good. Then he went down the big wavy slide that you ride down on burlap sacks with Donald and he had a huge smile on his face when he hit the bottom. He was ready to go slide again. It was fun so now Donald and I are planning on going to the state fair in October. I took a few pictures but it was with the disposable camera I always carry in my purse. I almost forgot to mention the rubber ducks. There was a game to get a small prize and you had to get a rubber duck out of a small pool. Nathan kept wanting to go see the baby ducks. So we stood there and watched the baby ducks swim. We decided to not let him play the game because we figured he would not want to give the duck back. But he liked just watching the baby ducks which is what he kept calling them.
